About
Tasting room closed for the season. Our friendly office staff are available to assist you with wine purchases on Monday to Friday from 11am to 4pm.
Our winery is evidence of what one man with vision, determination, and a little luck can accomplish. Proprietor and winemaker, Ted Kane, developed a passion for winemaking at a young age. Many Alberta winters were spent learning and planning how to accomplish his ultimate goal; owning and operating a winery in Canada's premiere wine producing area, Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country. 10 years after acquiring it, this perfect piece of raw land has been transformed into a 7 acre vineyard producing several varieties of high quality fruit, a fully functioning winery with a boutique tasting room and, most importantly, our family home. We specialize in the Bordeaux varietals, but also have a selection of white wines and a unique, full bodied Malbec Rose.

We stopped at River Stone Estate Winery on our way through Oliver and what a great decision. We were a family group that included my 90 year old Mom and everyone had so much fun and I personally learned a LOT from the very knowledgeable lady who walked us through a tasting that went from their whites to their reds. The wine here is amazing.

We had a wonderful tasting experience!!!The wines were amazing. Each wine we tasted was described in detail and the selection was tailored to our requests (ie: no reds please). Ingrid also took the time to ensure that our visit went above just a tasting by educating us on which grapes were grown where on the estate and why!!! She answered all of our questions. Thank you! We will be back and will recommend your winery to family and friends.

The Okanagan winery experience is excellent. The River Stone is a high-quality, small production, family run winery with good wines. The quality of the vinyards, the tasting facility, the family home and the gardens are exemplary.
The problem for me is, the wines are not great. They do not represent value. The prices are medium high, and the wines are only average. The tasting price is not cheap at $10 for four 1 ounce samples.
Still, I recommend a visit. The experience is memorable.

This is our third time visiting River Stone for a Seated Tasting with different Friends each time. Every time we have had a different presenter, and every time we have had a different experience that has been Great.
After our tasting, it is finished with a glass of your favorite in the vineyard, we added a charcutier board for pairing.

With 5 days of wine tasting in the area, this was one of our clear favorites. The wine tastings were varied and interesting, and we were surprised particularly by their sparkling white merlot and their "Stones Throw" red. The server was warm and knowledgeable, and the grounds are lovely.
I honestly can't remember if there was a tasting fee, but if there was, it was very low.

What a wonderful end to a Sunday. The wine was amazing but the experience and conversation with Wes and Ted made it memorable. I would highly recommend River Stone as a destination in Oliver. My wife and I could not have spent a better hour in our lives. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

We had a great experience today at RiverStone. Ingrid served us with such knowledge and treated us like family. The wines seem to get better every year. They have a good selection of both red and whites. This is a winery you don’t want to miss.

I went here on a trip with friends and don’t know a thing about wine and am so glad we did! Our guide Ali was extremely knowledgeable about the vineyard and the wines we were tasting and I learned a lot and the wines were incredible, each more delicious than the last! The favourite at our table was the 2022 Sauvignon Blanc hands down, we all ended up buying a couple bottles each to take back home. A wonderful experience overall, I highly recommend River Stone the next time you find yourself in the Okanagan, especially if you’re a wine noob like me :)
