On the night that we visited there was a freak wind storm, and so our dining experience was very brief, but we still got to quickly try everything that we ordered, and it just wasn't good at all. The butter chicken lacked flavour, and the pakoras were terrible. We were just so disappointed in the overall experience, and surprised that we received no discount, despite not being able to take our time to eat and enjoy the view of the winery because of the weather. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place, and making a reservation at one of the other phenomenal restaurants in the Oliver area.

They have a $5.00 tasting fee and you need to purchase 4 bottles before they refund your money. Desert Hills has been one of our favorite wineries but we will not be returning since we are against non-refundable tasting fees. We feel that the wineries are trying to promote their products and should not be charging a fee to promote their products.

That being said while we enjoy Desert Hills wines they will not be on our itinerary on future trips. There are plenty of wineries who have wines that are equally as good and do not charge to sell or promote their wines.

We went to Black Sage Bistro for lunch, looked like they had an interesting menu. A large tent is set up in the parking lot with tables and raised areas. The wait staff passed us and said, I'll be right with you, then she served drinks, said it again, then she served some food and said she'd be right with us again, then she took a food order and placed the order and then asked us if we wanted a table. She said she didn't have a table in the tent area but we could go sit on the small deck beside the building. The couple behind us didn't have a reservation and they were offered a table under the tent. Perhaps the waitstaff was flustered as it was busy but we though this curious. Then after leaving us for 10 minutes, she went and took the order of the couple who had been behind us. Perhaps efficient for her, but we were really hungry and tired of being ignored up on the small deck. Never did try their food....went elsewhere

I was told the “Pizza Saturday’s” was a must-do so we made our way to Black Safe Bistro at Desert Hills this past weekend. We always love a visit to the DH tasting bar and enjoy learning more about the wines and news of the ever evolving winery from Randy and Jessie and this time was no different. We were treated to an informative and delicious tasting (that resulted in a significant purchase for the cellar) before we headed out to the patio for a designer pizza (they all sounded delicious so we ordered two) curated by Coolio Exec Chef Patrick. So, so good, Uber social and such fantastic service will keep us going back for sure. They’ve got a great thing going there!!

This winery was one of the stops we made on our e-bike tour, and it didn't disappoint! Every single wine we sampled was delicious, and the biggest challenge was deciding how many cases to get! You HAVE to visit this wonderful place!

At this winery I asked a question about the grapes. It was a surprise when a young employee offered to take us out into the vineyard, and let us sample several types of grape (and he took our photos with them). This type of personal service makes one want to return to the same winery again.

A must stop, one of the best pizza's in the valley.Steakhouse pizza was outstanding, tons of toppings and cheese, mushrooms, caramelized onion, roasted peppers, asparagus and blue cheese, only quibble the blue cheese was hardly noticeable. The chicken sandwich was very tasty, focasia style bun was delicious, just a little light on the chicken, yam fries yum. Incredibly the wines are only marked up $5 per bottle, outstanding, more wineries should take notice. The Gewurztraminer was excellent, fairly mild, well balanced with a floral nose. Only winery restaurant that does this, well done! The practise of marking up 100% is offensive. Had a nice chat with Steven the marketing/events manager .Definitely will return.

Awesome winery! Fellow from Toronto pouring the wines was awesome, informative and engaging! We were a big group and he was able to handle the group great. I think everyone bought at least 2 bottles of wine.

Stopped in today for an excellent gourmet pizza and glass of viognier, both were over the top. Great service and really friendly owners. Will definitely be back.
