The Salao is located next to Serrano where you can swim in natural pools with a view to Lencois. Although it is included in many tours of the agencies, we just started walking to Serrano and found a local (and much cheaper) guide there. It is a great starting point to reach the other wonders around Lencois.

Beautiful experience. We wanted to avoid guides because Chapada Diamantina has a guides mafia, trecks aren't guided nor maps provided. We started walking alone and met this local guide who showed us the wey to enter the treck and salao das areias was the first thing we experienced. Beautiful, chapada is a great place to visit.

I had heard so much about it that I was expecting much more. It's a short walk from the city centre and you can also bathe in the natural pools. Interesting.
