We arrived to puerto lopez with the hole family looking for a place where to do scuba diving and after getting properly informed by the guides of Exploramar, we decided to book a complete boat for the family. We had a very special day, with snorkelling, scuba diving, fruits, laughs and sunny happiness

Very disappointed in the lack of communication. Having said that Sandra our tour guide was excellent in helping out when one of our party got sick. Not much to see at this time of year. A few blue footed boobies, lots of bugs and unbearable heat. We were told that water was available on the boat but only if you... More

Although I did not participate in the activity , I was on another boat that was diving the area. We had all divers in the water when three boats came and tied up. There were 60 snorkelers in one small bay. No fins are supplied !!! Fish are scarce when that many people and boats are around!! We had wanted... More

We have been in the area working for more than 20 years, and in that time we have never used the snorkel spots to do diving. The dive spots around Isla the La Plata are well away from the same bay and we do not use the snorkeling bay for Diving. We are one of a few Machalilla National Park... More

I had the pleasure to spend one day (2 dives) with Exploramar, it was a great experience! Their staff is very professional and particularly knowledgeable about the dive sites and the marine life. The gear is in good condition, which is important. They seem quite engaged with the preservation of the marine life, which tells a lot about their professionalism... More

I booked the dive for 2 days and the experience was really good. the only thing is that appeared that it needs a minimum of few people to go to Isla De la Plata, I was diving alone so I had to settle for several other locations around Puerto Lopez. I arrived to Puerto Lopezduring Off Season, so the town... More

We booked them for the Isla de la Plata dive. First, they don't have a dive boat. It's a generic tour boat, so no way to secure the tanks, and we were tripping over each other trying to set up the gear. Entry from a higher level than normal for diving. Overall, not particularly safe because gear couldn't be properly... More

Manta rays are an endangered species and Puerto Lopez is one of the best places to see them, but if you are conscious you have to chose an operator that understands and help preserve these beautiful animals. In Ecuador, Exploramar is the place to go. The Exploramar team really know what they are doing. They are the #1 dive operator... More

I took a one day scuba diving trip to the Isla de la Plata with Exploramar and was not dissapointed. We got to see huge manta rays, majestic sea turtles and all kinds of other exotic fishes. For 140$ you get two dives with very professional Ecuadorian dive guides that speak perfect English, are very experienced and take care of... More

OK, know upfront, if you don't already, that every tour operator charges the same price, which includes your day pass into Machalilla National Park, of which Isla De La Plata is part. Explora Mar owns the boats and hires the guides, but the guides are, I think, employed and trained by the Ecuadorian Park Service. Explora Mar ran a tight... More
