Bridge Road is still an interesting mix of shopping and eating with a few pubs grown in, but is still not sure what it wants to be. If you want food and a cool atmosphere, much better to head to Swan St....

One of the great Streets of Melbourne to visit, however is undergoing a change of identity right now. Only good from Church St, to Burnley St. Loads of places to eat and have fun with. Top pick of places to eat at are Bouzy Rouge and Mayday Cafe. Don't waste your time walking from Punt Road to Church St as... More

Although many guides extoll this as a great place to shop, it's not! Don't bother. It used to be a good spot but those days are long gone.

I remember the days when Bridge Road was an exciting hub of shops and retail outlets, perfect for nabbing a bargain. Those days are gone, and Bridge Road is now probably the last place I would think to go for shopping. You can tell that it's suffering from the abundance of vacant shop fronts as retailers gradually close permanently or... More

So close to Melbourne's CBD, Bridge Road has all one could need except the most special of specialty items, where a five-minute tram trip to the city may be needed. From supermarkets to locksmiths to sex shops, Bridge Road has it all. Clothing shops are in abundance, as are bookshops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

We love going to Bridge Road when we are in Melbourne. Not only are there many outlet stores, there are also great cafes and restaurants. As the tram runs through Bridge Road, it is very easily accessible, wherever you are staying. Can highly recommend for a relaxing shopping morning or afternoon.
