From Brussels Zaventem airport, it takes about 2 hours to reach Sedan. The city is a nice example of urban development during the Renaissance period. It is hard to imagine that this massive building was set up at the same time when the delicate French...More

A standard decent hotel in a very unique building. Rooms are fit for purpose although nothing exceptional. Breakfast was good and the staff friendly and helpful. What lifts this hotel is the building and appreciation of its scale. This would been a formidable fortress when...More

I have been in enough castles before that I considered skipping this stop but I am very glad I didn't! This is a historically strategic location in Europe so there is a great deal of history to cover on a visit. The tour is at...More

Went here on a Sunday so not very busy, excellent mornings visit with exhibits well laid out and information supplied in English. Plenty of stairs to negotiate but well worth while, nice souvenir shop and café. Plenty of parking

The entrance was somewhat difficult to find, as it is not signed at all and is not at the banners that seem to indicate an entrance, but only lead to a locked door. Go to the left from the parking lot, once you find it,...More

We visited this hotel for one night as a group (of five couples) on a battlefield tour in October 2016. The hotel is very impressive and a very comfortable place to stay. I had stayed here before and we opted for the 'senior suites' but...More

Starting from underground tunnels and chambers, up on the roof of the castle. The visiting route is not a short one. A lot of interesting and mysterious corridors, stairs, chambers and towers. Visiting that castle you will haven't time to be bored. At the end...More

This is an interesting place, possibly the only thing worth visiting in the town. The fort is really imposing, in well maintained condition and you could just imagine the roar of battles at the bottom of the walls. Part of the fort has been converted...More

We were in Paris and in order to get to the outlying areas, we rented a car. It was pretty inexpensive and even went a bit past the Sedan to just inside the Belgium border to see Bouillon Castle the same day. It was a fairly... More
