We booked the Skelligs Rock Cruises Landing Tour to Skellig Michael at the end of August 2024. We had an amazing experience! The tour guide/boat captain and his son were very fun and entertaining, and they did an amazing job to help us have the absolute best experience we could have had. The island was out of this world and we enjoyed every second of our trip!

This was my first time traveling alone and to go on Skellig Micheal was my goal of this trip. I got so much help from the people working with skelligs rock cruises and they were also really helpful with every question i had. I was super nervous at first but as soon as I got on the boat i was only exited. The guy who was driving the boat made sure that I saw everything and made sure that I was okay on the boat. Absolutely the best boat
We got really lucky with the weather, it was a sunny day and the waves were not as big as I imagined them to be which was nice. The boat ride out took about 45-50 minutes.
They called me in the morning 3 hours before the boat was scheduled to leave to ask if I could come 1 hour earlier which was no problem for me. So make sure that you have your phone on in case they call. They knew that I lived a little outside of the village so it would take me 30 minutes to walk since I didn’t have a car or bicycle.
When we got on the Island the told us that we had 2 and a half hours to walk around and explore. It took maybe 20 minutes for me to walk all the way up to the top. It was an amazing experience that I will remember forever, since i am a big Star Wars fan this was absolutely the best thing that I could experience. To be able to walk exactly where Luke Skywalker and Rey had walked were an honor.
We also got go around the islands afterwards which was so cool.
We even got lucky and we saw wild dolphins which was magical.
This is honestly the best company that you should book with if you wanna see the Skellig islands. They were super helpful with everything and they make sure that you have the best experience.

We visited Skellig Michael in a family group of 8, and it was such an amazing, magical, spiritual experience - I would say once in a lifetime, but I want to go again as soon as I can! The crew, including Shona and Derek, were so helpful and kind (especially to my sea-fearing sister and son!) and really enhanced the experience. The island is astonishing - the monks must have been blessed with divine powers to create this awe-inspiring sanctuary. I will certainly try to go again and would like to thank Skelligs Rock Cruises for this wonderful experience.

Skellig Michael is a place of beauty. From the 1 hour boat trip, to the mesmerizing views on top of Skellig, with Puffins by your side, it's so worth it.

If you're a Star Wars fan specially, getting to visit "Ach-To", from Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, adds even more to the experience.

Be aware of the walk. You have to be extremely careful with the steps (built more than 1000 years ago my monks) and if you have vertigo I don't advise the climb.

Shout-out to the boat crew, who were incredibly nice and thoughtful with the entire group all morning. This is one tour to remember for life.

Wow, what an amazing trip. The skipper, Derek, and his son Ethan, were the perfect guides - so knowledgeable and great fun. I still can't believe all the marine wildlife we encountered - seals, dolphins, minke whales. It was a real experience and the kids were amazed. So much bird life on the Skelligs and Derek kept us all up to speed with all the different types as well as the complete history of the islands. Seeing gannets diving into the water where Minke whales were feeding was a sight to behold. It was like being in a David Attenborough wildlife documentary!!! Highly recommended and great value if you fancy a day out on the atlantic ocean. The kids will certainly be talking about if for years to come. Thanks 😊

Thank you for the great review and for taking time out to do so. You really had an adventurous trip and seeing so much wildlife would certainly make it a special trip. Derek and Ethan alway do a great job and are very knowledgeable about all aspects of marine life in the area. They are also well up on the history of the Skelligs. Again thank you May you have a "fair wind and following sea" on all of your travels Seanie&Mary

I was a little apprehensive about landing on Skellig Michael and climbing the 600 steps. It turned out to be an experience of a lifetime. The roasting hot weather and the flat sea played a part but the key to the experience was Derek and his crew. They were brilliant. Their quiet support enabled this tad slightly over weight 74year fulfill a long time wish to visit the monastery. The trip out and back was informative and entertaining. Thank you Skelligsrockcruises. The staff on the island were great; a special shout out to Claire for her talk at the monastery and the safety bod for her direct approach to the issue that the climb might turn out not be for us. By the way there is a loo

We were lucky and got to land on Micheal Skellig! The trip out there & the island itself felt like a once and a lifetime experience. It was by far my favorite part of our 10 day trip around Ireland. The crew that took us was great. It was an exhilarating trip but we felt like we were in capable hands. Loved the member of the crew that was pointing out dolphins & landmarks as we raced along! It was an amazing day!

This trip was nothing short of fantastic and breath-taking (quite literally but that's my asthmas fault, not the crews!). Our crew was amazing in getting us there, educating us on the area around us, some history lessons, making us feel comfortable, and encouraging us along the way! They were amazing and so awesome to deal with. Very friendly and kind; pure hospitality! Would DEFINITELY recommend this team if you plan to visit Skellig Michael!

Great Tour, would do in again in a heartbeat. Derick and his son Ethan made the whole day fun and enjoyable. If you like the ocean and climbing up old stairs to a magnificent historical site, this is a must take trip.

Derek our skipper was honest that the misty conditions might hamper our experience but in the end we saw thousands of gannets on an atmospheric little Skellig . We didn’t see to the top of Skellig Michael but all the same saw the steps that the has been cut into the rock my the monks and got a real feel for this place. Derek was knowledgeable and humorous
