About
Adjacent to the Lillooet River, in the Pemberton Volcanic Belt, you will find Tsek Hot Springs and the sacred location of the In-SHUCK-ch and St’át’imc people (nkúkwtsa) of British Columbia. The nkúkwtsa established a permanent village of (s7)ístken (pit houses) and plank houses along the banks of the Lillooet River, and a series of trails through the nearby forests to hunting grounds and neighbouring villages. The mineral hot springs at Tsek provided our ancestors with physical and spiritual wellness, while the loose, sandy nature of the soil made the cedar tree roots grow long and straight. Tsek’s hot and cold springs became the most important spiritual site in the lower Lillooet River Valley. It is said that the cool spring served as a healing pool where the Elder mothers trained men to be chiefs, watchmen, and other important positions in the In-SHUCK-ch Nation. Pronounced “chick”, Tsek Hot Springs (also known as Skookumchuck Hot Springs and St. Agnes’ Well Hot Springs) has continuously been occupied and utilized by the St’át’imc people as a location to heal and cleanse the body and spirit centuries before Europeans arrived along our shores.

I have been visiting this hotspring since 1990. I have never seen it in such a poor state. When it was user maintained many of the regulars (hats off to the Laird Donald aka Jeff W) kept the place up because we loved it. Now that the title is "being held in trust by the federal government " responsibility is ambiguous and none of us old "Well's Angels" are as inclined to do the work we used to since we are being charged exorbitant fees for no garbage pickup, no toilet paper, no attendants after 5pm and....n minainance. Boards i put in place 20 years ago i would no longer risk standing on. Shameful.

It’s almost criminal to how the “new management” has let this gem turn into a disgusting experience.
I’ve never seen anything like it, but I suppose this is what we need to get use to

I mean, this is the worst paid hot springs in the province that I’ve visited - and even worse than most of the paid ones. The area is really nice and the campground is good, but there is a next to no maintenance or cleanup. The deck is falling apart and can be a danger to walk on, there is trash laying around, shrubs growing in the changing rooms, some of the outhouses are fallen over, the tubs are filthy… overall I don’t understand what the money you pay goes to because it sure isn’t towards operations. I’ve talked to some of the older folks in Pemberton that have claimed that these hot springs were in better shape and better maintained back when they were free, because willing people would fix things. Now that it’s paid no volunteers will go do it and whoever runs the site now sure isn’t interested in getting it done. Personally, I’d recommend hiking to one of the free natural hot springs around the Pemberton area instead, or actually visiting a resort that has to pass some sort of health and safety inspection.

Although there were some aspects that we loved, it was remote and somewhat peaceful, the maintenance was poor. The outhouses had not been cleaned in a very long time....smelled awful and were over run with flies and to top off there was no toilet paper. Signs in all the outhouses to buy TP at the office and they had none! Change area in the hotsprings was full of garbage, including used tampons (not to be gross but to add context). We paid 30$ to stay and in my mind I expect some level of cleanliness! This place has so much potential but really needs some TLC.

1.5hr away from Pemberton downtown.
30mins driving 99hwy after that 1hr driving on off road with beautiful Lilloet lakeside.
Tsek hot springs water is not a free. Water is clean and very hot but need little bit more maintain. They have camping area but washroom is very natural.

There I was, prepared to find hippy genitalia everywhere. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the place was almost empty of people. I think it's because I went in off season Late March, but looking around, the few people who were there, were genitalia covered. In fact, I felt so comfortable and at peace in the hot springs surrounded by covered individuals and rustic natural beauty that I could feel all my worries just melting away. So worry free and comfortable, that I made myself a little more comfortable. And then I realized the truth.
It was me all along.
I was the naked hippy genitalia.

It's ironic that since this wonderful place has started charging more maintenance has gotten worse. I had to reconnect the hot water pipes to tubs myself 3 times in one night. Now, I've been going there and fixing stuff for over 20 years but now that I have to pay 30 bucks a night I kind of expect not to have to as often. The reverse seems to be true. I nearly had a foot go through the deck as well. I will say Some, not All, of the "new " tubs are nice, but don't look at what they're standing on or you won't want to get in. I will also note it seems odd now that they are charging that there is still no garbage disposal and that they sell not supply toilet paper for the outhouses that don't seem to get cleaned often.

To be clear, "nominal fee" is $30.00, and there is no other place to stay except the campground. People who are thinking about travelling to T'sek Hot Springs deserve to know that patrons there generally bathe in the nude, and that, due to the crowded nature of the place, the nudity is really obvious and will burn your eyes out. I mean everything about this place is truly decent, from the help to the actual campground, but the hippie genitalia....It just ruins it for anyone looking to get away.

Hello! These hot springs sound incredible. Can I drive a small RV in mid April down this bumpy road?? Thanks a million!

Yes campfires are allowed so long as there is no ban in effect for the area.

Hello, it is my first time going there, and I don't find to much information, hopefully somebody here can help me. My questions are:
1.- Is there a number to call and make a reservation for the camping site? if so, please share it with me
2.- How far is it from Vancouver, 2:40 minutes?
3.- Do I need a reservation or is it first come first serve, saying that, going on the weekend of thanksgiving is plausible?
4.- Where is the closest hotel? i'm asking this, since probably the camp is full I would like to have a plan B
Thank you for your help :) I really appreciate it...
