Soon after leaving Lillooet and driving to Pemberton, we found this Seton Lake. It was raining in the morning but we could make some pictures. It's quite nice place to stop for the view though it is a water reservoir. I like to see the railway line down next to the water. We didn't see birds but a group of white tail looking for water at the parking area.

Stopped here as we left the town and it was just incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The car park is well maintained and there are toilet facilities.

In the coastal mountains-third of British Columbia north of Whistler ski resort and of Vancouver, the altitudes are lower and the early winter impressions on the higher slopes in October have receded; replaced by a warmer and moister seasonal weather pattern that is gradually shifting to autumn colors. Thick conifer forests, old woods, and temperamental climate reduce the range of visibility significantly.
Taking a turnoff on a rough road off of Lillooet Pass, I put my Range Rover Evoque through its paces; however, the increasingly rough passage tracking upward persuaded me that the prudent course was to turn around. The waterfall and coastal mountain range, though, make an exhilarating sight in good weather.
Another scenic surprise in this region, among many, is the Seton Lake Reservoir.
There are few roads now, especially roads going northward toward the tundra, the Yukon and ultimately to Alaska. Â A black bear or other wild inhabitant may sit on the edge of the forest wall calmly watching traffic pass, and ignoring gawkers like myself.

The density of the woods is demonstrated by the buildup of logs and debris at bottlenecks where creeks and rivers funnel into scenic lakes that languish mostly undisturbed.  One such location just off the route 99 is Duffey Lake, not far from Whistler and the community of Lillooet. Despite the green lush landscape imprinted by the tall stately conifers crowding the riverbanks and lakes, a deepening color is very evident as the warm season wane in the Fall months. Some of the hues and shades of color no doubt are attributable to dead and dying foliage, but the scenery generally is interspersed with underbrush and flora that is getting ready for a cold season.Â
The Duffey Lake/Cayoosh Creek Valley was historically used as a travel route between the Lillooet First Nations on Lillooet Lake and the Stl’alt’imx First Nation on the Fraser River.  The area was noted for hunting and trapping.Â

I am fairly disgusted with the beach at Seton Lake. Years ago I when I went to this beach and got a rash from the water or beach. Well yesterday I think I know why a person cannot enjoy this beach. There is a sign as you enter the beach it clearly says NO DOGS BEYOND THIS POINT. Well we went down to the beach and it stank, there were 8 or more dogs that we counted on a beach where they were not supposed to be. A dog in the water. For lord sakes people have respect for others and read the bloody signs and abide by them. There was dog crap all over the beach area, and a person is suppose to be able to enjoy this????? Next time I go there, I am lighting a cigarette and butting it out in the water, and if anyone says anything, I will nicely hand them their dog crap, on a stick of course..lol. Try to understand ignorant dog owners...some people actually have some serious allergies to your animal. Try to respect that, as I am sure you are one of the type to whine about cigarettes and second hand smoke. My grandson would not be able to go there and enjoy the water because of a dirty oily dog.
This is disgusting, and I will be putting a write up about it in Tripadvisor.

If you haven't had enough of great scenery and beautiful lakes, add Seton Lake to the list.
A well designed vantage point and large car park to view the lake and surrounding mountains, hills and scenery.
Marvel at the people who have taken this natural lake and its position and used it to create hydro-electricity.
This is worthy of a rest stop before you reach the town of Lillooet and add more photos to the album.

If you have a boat, you will practically have this lake all to yourself. Fishing is tough. The boat launch is not the best but works.
Seton is around 22 km long and very narrow. It is flanked by very high canyon like walls. This means it can het relatively rough when the wind comes up and often only in certain parts of the lake. There are very few places that you can tie up your boat and go onto shore. There is one place 2/3 of the way down the lake that has a great rope swing.
Note that this water is cold and is only (enjoyable) swimable August or September... however, Lillooet is hot so the water is a welcome relief. There is a public beach accessible from highway 99. The scenery on this lake is spectacular. This lake rarely, if ever, freezes.

Gorgeous stop off on the way to Kamloops. If you take the path from across the road from the lookout spot (pullout on left of road) marked first (from the left) on the map you can walk up to the next one on the right - about 0.5km uphill. Nice view from the parking at the end of the lake too.

great place to swim, not to busy, lots of room and parking is very close to beach. Water is warm and VERY clean and clear.

We were staying in Lillooet and were lucky enough to have a beautiful calm day, so we drove about 5 minutes to the upper car park for some photos as a train headed Westward along the far shoreline.
Headed down the road to the lower car park where there is toilets (wheelchair accessible also). Here you can get to the lakes edge and take in the nice colours and scenery. There was only 3 other cars during our visit in early May.

yeah when are you going to clean up the beach, and keep the dogs out like it says they are not allowed? We all have a right to be on this beach,,,not just dog owners. But then again the sign says no dogs.

I would like to know when the band is going to clean up the dog crap, and enforce the no dogs allowed on beach rule? Otherwise I am not going to play by any rules either.

Depending on what beach you are on. One is the band's and One is hydro. There are geese who often wander around the beach and there is lots of goose crap. I haven't had an issue with dog crap or even seeing it on the hydro side. I have grown up swimming in this lake and haven't become sick from swimming in it. I know your going to bash my comment like you did every other local voicing their opinion on your Facebook post. But figure I'd let other travelers know this is a bit of an exaggeration.
