About
This outlandish bar made of driftwood sits in the Caribbean ocean off the coast of Treasure Beach. Only accessible by boat, Floyd’s Pelican Bar offers a thoroughly memorable experience with stunning views and great food. Swim or snorkel in the shallow waters, savor grilled lobster, and play a round or two of dominoes. Top it off with a breathtaking sunset and a cold Red Stripe Beer.
You can spend hours at this unique little spot, or maximize your day by stopping by other attractions in the area as part of a full tour of Montego Bay.

Simply put, this place is magical and good for the soul. A quick 10 min boat ride out once you reach the shore near Pelican Bar. Hop off the boat to the bar, order some fresh made-to-order food, grab a drink, and pop back into the sea! Highly recommend Jamaica Transport Tours to escort you, as they do private transportation and are a blast to be with. They don't rush you at all.

This was so much fun, we drove a couple hours from Negril. We saw crocs on the river which was so cool.
The boat was about 15mins out to sea. Then we arrived @ Floyds Pelican Bar. What a treat. Cold red stripe, a fish dinner in middle of the ocean. You can step off into the water, as Floyds is built on a sand bar. Just beautiful. We stayed most of the day. Music, food & drinks a plenty. Some people were playing dominos.
But make sure u get ur name carved into the wood platform, we did & have gone back to add to it on our last trip. What a fantastic day. Book ur day here enjoy the vibes. One love ❤️🇯🇲❤️

The pelican bar is like no other bar I have visited. The unique atmosphere and vibe is no other. From the boat ride to get out there to the totally laid back vibe, it’s well worth it. We visited while we were in the area, as we went to YS falls
The downside is the hassle from the vendors to carve your names into the wood deck and walls of the bar, to having photos taken and even a small bottle of beer costing US$5

Kinda a disappointing. Thought it would be bigger and more entertaining. Food and drinks are expensive as well.

Unique bar, accessible only by boat. About a 45-minute ride from Sandals South Coast resort. Wear your swimming suit and bring a towel because this is a sandbar. Drinks, food, sun, music, souvenirs, it’s got everything. Even local fishermen came by. Get your name carved into the floor boards, super cool.

Somewhat disappointing, given all of the positive reviews. Loved the catamaran ride to and from, but Floyds itself was a let down. All food is $25/plate. Beers $5. You can buy a large joint for $10 if you are so inclined. There's a guy taking photos with the goal to get your email and sell them to you, vendors hawking goods and you can meet Floyd, tucked away in a closet. Don't go if you are not steady on your feet, as structure is uneven and you can easily trip. We would have preferred a sunset cruise or snorkeling cruise instead.

Treasure Beach is indeed one of the most beautiful places in Jamaica you can go to. Take a boat stop off af Pelican bar the go across to deserted Island have fresh lobster on the beech.

My new happy place. Taking a boat across to a sand dune is a not big venture Not until you go to Floyd’s Pelican Bar on the South Coast of Jamaica. A Ja Rum Campari & Ting in hand with soft Reggae vibes ( food optional) awesome staff and when the feeling tek you a slow swim around the hut then you can bask in the sun with a readily available red stripe. Great place to bring friends I went solo( some me time) Best 4 hrs spent in a long time

What a unique experience. Since our family mane is Floyd we had to go! You have to see it to believe it. A bar and food 1 mile out to sea reachable by a boat ride! Then to stand in the ocean at waist level. Amazing!

The location was perfect, seeing the sundown was wonderful. I personally would like music to be played all day. It was on and off.
Did not try the food but it looked great.

No it’s definitely not easy. The stairs are slippery, jagged, and the whole bar is got angles and bumps. You really have to watch where you’re going. I would highly not recommend it.

It’s open now we were there yesterday, you must have a mask to enter, and you have to wash your hands and they do a temperature check before you enter.

Hi, Any idea how much it cost to get your name carved into the deck & if we asked for a photo to be taken?

Very good question, we did exactly that that.
Depends if Floyd is there but he seemed very approachable when we arrived (midday ish), he very much enjoyed red stripe and gave us some great pictures but it was fairly early and quiet.
There are no prominent spaces left for name carving so don’t be upset if it’s out the back or really small and the cost is at your discretion. Hint- pay first and pay more, say 20US.
Good luck

Is it easy to get out of the sea back to the bar if elderly I only have the use of one arm
Kelley H

I don't think one arm is an issue as long as you can get in and out of a boat fairly easily and have good balance.
I’m traveling to Jamaica from America and I wanted to know if it’s a good idea to rent a car?
If so, what navigation system would be best?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you.

For me, a vacation is supposed to be relaxing and all about seeing new things. I've been to Jamaica four times and have never needed a car. Staying at Sandals or Couples they provide transportation to and from the airport. You can also talk to the staff and they will get you a really good deal on private transportation to and from different sights. Let them do the driving and kick back and relax, mon. :)
Where is this located in JA? There is no address to this destination.
