We travelled with friends visiting from America and we took the opportunity to show them unique places all over Austria. Places we hadn't seen either. Up until the visit we didn't even know that this is the larges ice cave in the world! We liked...More

Really enjoyed the experience, I'm an out of shape 50 year old male and I did get tired on the walk up to the cave and a couple of times during the tour but it was so worth it. Our guide was excellent and answered...More

We visited this cave, a family of four (to childs 5 and 8 y.o.). We used the cabin but be aware you will have to walk uphill 20 minutes before the cabin and 20 minutes after the cabin. You can take a tunnel shortcut below...More

Everywhere you look you're made believe that the walk up the cave is too hard. We did the walk in 45 min and on the way we found an elder man with his dog and a family with 3 children, two of them clearly under...More

The ice cave is a really interesting and dramatic experience. Getting to it is an adventure in itself, in our case including a train, bus, walk and cable car. The cave is large with 700 steps, but well worth it with helpful guide. We enjoyed...More

The cave is totally dark and lit by small lanterns carried by visitors. The guide shows the most important ice formations with his lantern, but because it's so dark you don't really see that much especially because you have to focus on climbing stairs and...More

There's plenty of parking, though it does fill up fast and you may have to walk further. It's a 20 min hard walk from the entrance booth to the cable car, then a further 20 min walk to the cave entrance. It was steep and...More

40 minutes of steep walking and then more than 1000 stairs in the cave. BUT it is wonderful! Unfortunately, it is not allowed to take pictures inside the cave.

Most likely not. Even in a car you'd have a tough time seeing all three in one day. Pick one and focus on that. IMHO given your limited time, I'd try to see Hohenwerfen castle.
