Yes, OK it is very much on the tourist trail, but when you arrive in Monschau you realise why. The town is nestled in a steep valley and is mostly pedestrianised, and all the better for it. This is Bavarian quaint at its best. We stopped for a walk and a coffee and found it to be an enchanting place.... More

We just popped in and out quickly for a look on our way to the Red House. The church was simple and small.

Another hidden gems that i found during my study abroad in Europe is monschau. The city is really small, however it designs beautifully and pretty. I do feel like living in a fairytale when i visited there. It looks a bit like disneyland as well. If you go up the city, you will find monschau castle and from there you... More

Its a lovely small church in the center of Monschau. There is not much to see except an altar and a organ.

Small little city near the Belgian border. Not much to visit, but shops, restaurants, cafés. Nice to go during the weekend. Wear good shoes, ne heels.

This is really one of the gems of the world. The layout of the town is like a fairy tale and there is a postcard picture at every turn. The shops and restaurants look very quaint and it is all very walkable.

This small and pittoresque village is located in the German National Park Eifel, between the mountains. The long road to Monschau is very old, you can even see the Roman milestones. Although it's pretty touristic, I loved the distinctive atmosphere featuring the mediaval roads and socalled ´Fachbau´ houses, enjoy the variety. I did the long climb to the Monschau Castle,... Just oozes charm with picturesque buildings and attractive river. A place for relaxing with a coffee in the centre square, soaking up the atmosphere and observing the slow pace of life. So plan your visit outside of popular visiting times before the tourist invasion as we did.

Monschau is a small town that amazes with its natural beauty, location, river streams, hospitality and food. We drove from Köln and got a nice parking facility to spend the rest of day enjoying the walk. One can simply relax, visit the Eifeldom, senfmühle, local restaurants etc. Plenty of opportunity to take marvelous photos. There is also a toy-train ride... More

Was staying with friends in Blankenheim and decided to drive over to Mönschau for a day. This is a gorgeous little old German village. In some ways it was creepy in a fun way. Reminded me of the villages in those old Christopher Lee Dracula movies. A lot of fun. Dracula aside, this was a fun gorgeous little village. Twisty... More
