An impressive building from the outside though not exactly what I call red. The price is very reasonable but it does close over lunch time so time your visit accordingly.

The stairway is so beautiful and the house is very elegant. The tour was informative, much like a tour of a Newport, RI mansion, only this house is smaller but is just as elegant.

As with all other museums most of the rooms as inaccessible. However, its inexpensive and you can see some original furniture.

Only for 3 euro p.p is a good price to see rotes house. You can see alot of old furniture and paintings. It is a small self tour for like 20 minutes. You are not allowed to enter the rooms, but you can see the nice surrounding from a distance. I really like the stair well, old wooden stair and... More

Perhaps Der Rotes Haus is actually unremarkable, but on the other hand a beautifully decorated historical home can always inspire us old-house junkies to find interesting things upon which to remark. This is no exception! Even if you think you've seen every historical home in from the late 1700s, I suspect this one might hold some surprises. For those interested... More

It was so interesting to hear and see about how they lived and developed a very essential part of old Monschau.

Nice museum which shows the family´s Scheibler history, their tradition and importance to the local textile industry and city. You can see a bit of the life in the 17XX´s and 18XX´s, the furnitures style (some from Aachen and Liége) and some nice objects from this time. Not forgetting the amazing wooden stair...remarkable! A nice place to visit when passing... More

We really enjoyed our visit to Das Rote Haus. The price of admission was not too high. The person at the cash desk was very friendly. The house is in great condition and was very nicely done. Even my teenage daughter enjoyed the visit. There are several rooms to see. We highly recommend a visit to this beautiful house.

Brought the past to life- showed how a prosperous businessman on the up combined luxury and practicality. The main staircase is really over the top- heavily carved and apparently hanging in the air.
