A beautiful Gothic castle with an elaborately carved facade: a fine example of architecture and stonework in the Middle Ages.

Naumburg's cathedral to me ranks right up there with Cologne, Ulm, or Bamberg - and it offers so much inspiration and insight! This is the place where Martin Luther himself installed the first "protestant" bishop. And of course home to Uta, that masterpiece of medieval...More

This was my third visit to Naumburg and to the Dom. It has charm and wonderful history. Don't forget to buy a poster with Uta.

I have visited this astonishing building twice. It is a little disorientating for church goers who expect to see an altar at one end. This cathedral has altars at both ends. The place oozes ancientness. Inside, there are the medieval monuments, woodwork and stained glass...More

This historic site was a perfect place for our choir to end our tour to Germany at. The historic side to this building was fascinating and I would recommend a visit to anyone.

When I finally managed to visit the Cathedral in Naumburg (it had been my dream for years), I was astonished. The cathedral has been preserved almost unchanged since the Medieval period, it has remained austere and monumental. Particularly worth seeing are the statues of the...More

A particularly fine medieval cathedral. Very unusual in its layout, and with very important architectural decoration. Well worth a visit to see and understand the historical significance of the building.
