The historic center of San Giovanni Rotondo is really very beautiful. Full of churches that I recommend keeping open so you can visit them. The 2 towers are beautiful, the various houses visited by Padre Pio which must be publicized and made known to pilgrims because they don't know that San Giovanni Rotondo has the historic center. The restaurants and the streets of the ancient village are also beautiful. An advice?? More vigilance, those writings that dirty churches and homes are not beautiful.... Value it more because it deserves to be known!🙂

nothing much to do here, few shops around, slightly shabby and shops close from 1230 to 4.30p.m so you need to plan ahead to fill your afternoons and take some tours out of the centre as its quite lifeless.

It is a very charming town that really comes alive at night and chic stores and great food. I bought some beautiful pieces of jewelry and fun sunglasses. Piazza Europa is the place to park and walk around.

We went down for a stroll in the old town from the new area associated with the Sanctuary of Padre Pio. It has a lovely pedestrianised area with many narrow streets off left and right. Very Italian!

The historic center of SGR is a small area that is easily walkable. It is located away from the Padre Pio Sanctuary. Located within this area are old churches, old buildings and the seat of city government. The day we visited, a Saturday, it was very quiet and empty of people.

This little historic town has 500 years of history. You can walk in it and discover eateries, a wax museum, and other very interesting monuments.

we spent only a few hours in town but we walked around to get a flavor of the town. It was Saturday night so the town was full of young locals enjoying the night. It seems like an ordinary Italian town, nothing spectacular and standing out.
