Spectacular

We were there on Saint's Day so the cemetery was very busy and full of fresh flowers. A wonderful experience

Mini Melrose
May 2019
This evocative church ruin reminded us a bit of Melrose Abbey in Scotland. Worth the climb up the hill, really sweet and lovely. Both are pilgrimage sites, though at opposite ends of the goal.

Worth the short drive off the coastal highway
Sep. 2018 • Friends
We were driving along the coastal highway anyway, and this is just a short distance from the highway. It's a fascinating site, and a very romantic ruin (in the 19th-century literary sense), especially on a slightly foggy day like when we were there. There's not a lot of parking, but the several spots should be enough as it doesn't seem that it would usually be busy.

This is another example, though, of why we should have read the reviews in Tripadvisor first, as we might then have continued up the hill to the viewpoint.

Very interesting

Fascinating ruins of a church at the top of the town, surrounded by a beautifully maintained cemetery. Parking available at the side of the road. Free to visit.

Vale la pena!

Very worth the short walk. The old Cathedral is now part of a cemetery. The park located above has great views.

A must see

By walking to the Igrexa de santa marina Dozo you also walk through the neighborhood. Everyone has some grapes growing, everyone!. The views across the town and vineyards are beautiful and the cemetery is quite interesting.

Worth the trip up the hill
May 2017 • Couples
These ruins are fascinating and the fact that the well kept town cemetery has developed around the ruins gives an added colourful charm. Whilst they go a bit higher to climb to the viewpoint for superb views over the Rias Baixas.

Interesting but not worth a trek
Jun. 2016 • Solo
I visited the ruins on a Sunday, which may have been a mistake. They are situated in the middle of a graveyard where the graves were being attended by many family members. I felt a little out of place as a tourist, although I was made to feel welcome. The ruins are simple and pretty, but if you are short of time I'd give them a miss.

Different cemetery
Aug. 2015 • Couples
These are gothic ruins of a ancient church from the 15th century. Today, it's a small and peculiar cemetery, definetly worth a visit.
