Coming from Essex where we don't have much beach and what does exist is mostly shingle, we had a delightful stroll around here last weekend after eating at the Captain Digby. The cliffs are amazing and we found many varieties of shells and seaweed.

Great sandy beach to walk your dogs or stop and have a picnic. No limits to beach access for dogs. Easy access by steps to the road. Can continue your walk either right to joss bay or left to botany bay. Does get cut from both sides by the incoming tide. Interesting gap in the chalk cliffs to walk through... More

Getting down to the beach using some of the 'evolved' paths is a bit tricky, there are however proper paths down to the sea. Nice walk with lovely chalk cliffs and rock pools to navigate. Really peaceful and enjoyable during our winter walk. I think it would be great in the summer as the beach slopes gently into the sea.... More

Took a day dash out from London to Kent for a beach-side lunch with my dog. Kingsgate was clean and dog friendly and very easy to access. I recommend taking a rubber pail for dogs to drink out of. The water wasn't very nice, but we managed to give the dog a quick rinse nearby.

Another great Kent beach discovered after walking round from Botany Bay. Dramatic Stately House on the cliff (now sadly private residents apartments) provides a great back drop to some sunbathing on another sandy beach. Took the cliff top walk back to Botany Bay.

you have to park in the captain digby £10 I think but you will have the beach without the hoards. A bit of extra seaweed at the moment but this changes

I would recommend this place to everyone who enjoys long walks along empty, wide beach, who loves peace and the the music of the waves, the beauty of cliffs...

Lovely bay, you can walk to miss bay too and a few if the other 7. Nice walking over the cliff tops, amazing chalk cliff caves and the cliffs are very dramatic. Highly recommend a visit

As well as Botany Bay, Kingsgate bay is great spot for sea lovers and for those who appreciate stunning views.
