Walking from the village is only for the athletes as is the walk down e rocky stream bed used as a path to the beach!
Better to find a boat to let you off and pick you up. Unless of course you alphabet a catamaran, yacht or monohull!

The best way to enjoy Guadeloupe is by motorized bicycles.
Book them ahead of time if you're stopping for just the day on a cruise.
Not many cabs on the island. This beach is perfect in the morning.
It's small so it get's crowded quickly. The water is calm and plenty of fish around.
Hang out here for an hour then head over to Crawen. That's the better spot.

Tiny but sublime crescent-shaped beach, squeezed between Sugarloaf cape and the island's hills. Perfectly calm and clear water, perfect for snorkeling. All that's missing is palm trees. Giving it only 4 stars due to access: you reach it from the road on a steep and often slippery trail, then back up again to leave, so not ideal for anyone with walking difficulties. For everyone else, well worth the effort.

We were recommended to visit Sugar Loaf Beach (Plage du Pain de Sucre) by the lovely ladies at Green Car Location where we had hired our golf carts.

It is quite a way down the island and although it is walkable from the ferry jetty I would suggest its about 3km away and would take 45 mins or so to walk to it as there are some steep hills. If you get a cab (not many about) its less than 10 mins drive.

The beach is accessible from a path down from the road which is a bit rough and ready but it is worth it when you get down.

It is quite a narrow beach and there are no facilities and little shade but there is a café / bar about a third of the way down.

When you do get to the beach the location is simply fabulous just what I imagine the Caribbean used to be like. Crystal clear waters and idyllic scenery.

When we go back as I am sure we will we will be a bit better prepared and bring some lunch & drinks with us as you have to pass a supermarket on the road out of town to the beach.

Beautiful, quiet bay when there aren't lots of party boats in the bay, like on weekends! Snorkeling is good here, but there's not much to see. The path from the road down to the beach isn't well-developed and sometimes you walk over big rocks!

Tiny beach, a couple of meters wide with little shade. On the right side it is possible to see all the reef fish while remaining a short distance from the shore. The bay is protected and the water is very calm and clear. A show not to be missed

A little steep access (10 minutes of walking through stones) but the place at the end is really superb! 😍
The beach is very small but the colors are magnificent

We walked 10 minutes on a rough stone path but the arrival was worth it. Small beach with transparent water and many fish!

Great spot... on the other hand very little space because the place if it wants to be confidential, it is not at all.
I just have one real problem... I would like to understand how such a place can be so littered with broken glass bottles and trash on the path leading there. The illegal dumping... and it's the locals not the tourists (bags of rubble, construction site trash cans on the sides of the road and I'm not talking about all the trash) such a beautiful place and not taking care of it. .. what a pity.
