Down Beach is south of the harbour of Limbe, seperated from the harbour by a small cape. It consists of dozens of small huts, in every one stands a Mama and the daughters, while the boys are out fishing. Everywhere they sell roasted fish, which...More

The beach is good but dirty due to the deposit brought by sea waves. The Limbe City Council or the power that be should do something.

The sand at the beach is like dark chocolate because of the volcanic soil in the region, which makes for a different experience. The food is really good, and you can eat fresh fish (any kind... I think Cameroonian fish is some of the best...More

Great beach...although stoney. The beach is black not so clean. Could be better. There are areas on the beach for dining.

Fresh fish (and crab and shrimp and octopus), grilled in front of you with delicious spices and sauces. Accompanied by miondos and plantains, and eaten with your fingers. Washed down with an Export 33 yards from the sea. Life is good at Down Beach!

We had a great afternoon looking at the beach and eating some local fish and gambas! There was a little mob mentality at first but we were able to get on with our lunch. Service for food was incredibly slow BUT the scenery was Super!

Almost at Limbe town centre, no matter what time, we liked hanging round at Down Beach, watching the white horses on the black beach, the fisher men, eating fish, jogging round with the kids. For some hundred meters, there is even a promenade between street...More

Beach in middle of town. Not too clean. God fish restaurants around, busy and you see oil drilling plants just in front

The place is very touristy for Cameroon and the people at the restaurants try to exploit this. Our bill of the restaurant had to be changed 4 times (including a lot of discussion) till it was correct. There are certainly better places to eat.
