We started going to the Market and buying whatever we would like to do. We bought plenty of veggis and some tuna., then we did the cook in a really nice terrace. We learn how to cook several traditional dishes and once this was done, we ate them all. Amazing! Highly recommendable!

We had a great time learning, and cooking Sri Lankan food, taking away recipes that we will definitely try at home. We visited the vegetable, spice and fish markets before going back to Sonyas where we prepared and cooked the food, before sitting down to eat it. If you want to experience more of Sri Lanka, this is certainly one... More

We enjoyed being shown the ropes of Sri Lankan cooking by the lovely Kuruna. We made more food than we could eat and took the recipes home for more in future.

Karuna is truly unique: her culinary experience and knowledge is only equalled by her energetic and friendly attitude. We were lucky enough to book a class with her at the very last minute, and enjoyed every moment. She took us to the market to pick local products and spices, and then we cooked for a couple of hours. Both recipes... More

I absolutely loved the cooking class with Karuna! She is a warm and welcoming lady with a beautiful smile and infectious laugh! We met her in Galle where she took me by the hand and lead us to her tuk tuk to meet the rest of the group and take us to the markets to buy food for the class.... More

Karuna makes this whole experience feel like a home away from home. Made sooo much food and learnt a lot about Sri Lankan cuisine. Trip to the market was excellent and the lesson itself was personal, educational and the teacher made us feel really involved. Devilled potatoes, coconut sambal and the beetroot, pumpkin and aubergine curries were amongst the most... More

At $30 per head and an average of 10+ people, two cooking classes per day - its way overpriced. Only one stove for all the people, its not very personalized. Karuna is a lovely, friendly lady. There is a cooking class in Ella that was good reviews, and cheaper. Id go there.

I attended a cooking class for about 2.5 hours with my daughter. Started off with a visit to the market and then back where we cooked 5 different curries. Karuna has a good sense of humor and we enjoyed her cooking class. Enough to feed an army but we thoroughly enjoyed eating our own creations and for the same price... More

We had the absolute pleasure of attending Karuna's cookery course today. It was super-fun, really accessible, interesting and engaging - we all just loved it. Karuna is really warm and friendly; extremely knowledgeable and excellent at explaining. Highly, highly recommended - two massive thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼
