The Monteverde Orchid Garden is a place where you can enjoy beauty that is found in the marvelous world of orchids. Our garden has a large collection of orchids; we have more than 425 different species. You can find species that are endemic to Monteverde, and a collection of miniature orchids, including the smallest one in the world. We offer guided walks both in English and Spanish. We are in a great location in down town Santa Elena.

A great NATIVE orchid garden showing the orchids that inhabit Costa Rica. Many of them have different shapes than you may expect, and most are smaller than the ones we buy from the grocery store. We had Greg, a very good guide show us around. The orchid that looks like a tarantula to attract a tarantula killing wasp to it... More

The guide made all the difference when visiting the garden . We all had magnifying glasses to be able to rightly see all the details he pointed out. Nice activity, takes 1-2 hours Well worth to spend money on a guide.

You need a guide for the full experience. Thank you Ricky...you were excellent and helped us to see all the tiny species orchids. This is really for the orchid enthusiast. There are orchids you will see here and no where else...not the grocery story type orchids but the species from which many of our hybrids were developed. We loved it.

I visited this amazing orchid garden twice in three days--it's that good. I didn't know much about orchids, but the guides, one of whom was the owner, were very, very informative. The garden is located in the center of Santa Elena, so is easy to get to. Well worth a visit.

Excellent tour. What we learned about orchids was amazing. The garden was laid out in a circular fashion and was easy to access all the different areas. The guide was very informative and patient.

Our guide showed us the miniature orchid, and understand the structure of orchid, how they pollinated.... His passion and knowledge touch us all. After the tour, my adult son said the guide made him want to be a botanist - which is incredible because he had never owned any plants in his life. I think the display and collection have... More

I love orchids and this place is full of them. They have thousands of different orchids to look at. That's basically it.

My wife and I decided to go to the Monteverde Orchid Garden based on other TripAdvisor reviews. It is located in Santa Elena right beside Morpho's restaurant, entrance from Morpho's parking lot. Entrance fee $12.00 per adult which includes guide. Our guide was a very nice young man named Gleiven and it was incredible the amount of information he provided... More

This is a small but packed garden, right in the center of town. The guide we had was knowledgeable and taught us a lot about orchids we didn't know.

Not many flowers, but that is nature. It was raining heavily so we did not enjoy the garden as much as we would have enjoyed it if it was not raining. It was very nice of the people to provide us with raincoat.
