Sartene is a marvelous little hill village to walk around and explore. The highlight is the Musee Prehistorique at the top of town. Loaded with objects from Stone Age Corsica, it's a great place to spend an hour or so.

After going to the Neolithic sites in the morning, this museum wove it all together to provide a full sense of of prehistoric man before during and after the Bronze Age. Quite wonderful way to spend the hotter hours of the day.

This museum has some remarkable and beautiful exhibits, including some basket work from 6000 years ago and some memorable iron age jewellery. There are also some haunting menhirs in the basement. The objects are well presented and clearly labelled.
