This is very well done. You can use a guide and then wonder (I mean wander) around and see the many old houses. Stop in museum too. We will return ....

A visit to the „Pfahlbaumuseum“ (which is German for: 'Stilt house museum') takes you back in time and gives you a little insight into the life of people living around the lake a long time ago. And that was surely no luxury life. Unlike today,...More

The many reviews sum up how wonderful this place is. A couple of pointers though. When you arrive make sure that you go to the "immersive" film presentation first. You have to progress through 3 different "rooms". It is available in a number of different...More

Seeing the crowd in the museum we were afraid that we won't be able to fully enjoy our visit, but finally it wasn't that bad. As it is not necessary to keep direction, you can freely choose which way to go, come back, if you...More

It is a super site with lots to see. The replica houses were great and gave a good idea of what it would have been like in Prehistoric times. However, for people who cannot speak German or only a small amount of German as we...More

We visit the Pfahlbaumuseum each time we vísit Lake Constance. While the facility grows slowly, the excellence of the presentations improves and expands significantly each year. This year we participated in a simulated harvesting, shaping and setting of a pile. The best part was the...More

We enjoyed the information presented even though we don’t speak German. The German tour was over our heads, but the museum is a stunning recreation of the stilt homes discovered on the lake from an early civilization. The displays need no explanation. It is beautifully...More
