4000ft long Aquaduct Tunnel 'often compared to the Wonders of the World' as it is one of only two tunnels in history that was excavated from both ends and met in the middle with success (and this was in 6thCenturyBC - before any kind of mapping or surveying)!

Phoned ahead the morning of to book the hour-long tour which only ended up taking 35 minutes. Guide spoke fluent English and answered all our questions, although we did a bunch of reading in advance as well. Impressive engineering feat to build a tunnel from...More

Don't omit to visit this masterpiece of engineering when being at Samos! We walked until the meeting point of the two tunnels and were really impressed by the accuracy of Eupalinos' calculations. The tunnel is very narrow at its beginning, but then it is wide...More

This was an incredible tour of an ancient work of engineering. The tour guide does not offer much explanation so do your homework prior to the tour. Also, FYI this tour is not very physically demanding contrary to the tunnel operators. If you can walk...More

Put a hairnet and a hard hat on, and down you go. I found it a bit claustrophobic, it is a very small tunnel, and you'll be glad of the hard hat.We only did the basic trip for 20 minutes.
