Interesting tour with a very knowledgeable guide added to the great experience. Amazing views from the top or the castle. We had lots of fun exploring the grounds and the castle. It's worth taking a walk across the river to the Sheeps Gate and the ruins of the Tower on this hill.

Well preserved facility with some renovation going on. Great tour with very knowledgeable OPW employees. A must do with great views from the top and very narrow stair cases.

We highly recommend taking the guided tour of this castle. It is a great value. Extremely educational and interesting. This site is managed by the ODW, an organization which we found to be consistently excellent in their efforts to conserve, display and and educate visitors regarding Irish heritage.

There are some good pictures opportunities from the outside. The visit is not really interesting and the interior of the castle can only be visited with a guided tour.

I took a visitor from abroad who was interested in castles. A very easy drive from Dublin, I had no idea this huge Norman castle was so nearby. The guided tour was excellent...very informative historically, with plenty of humour thrown in, so it's entertaining all the way. Our guide spoke a little fast, and I just hope all non English... I have done this excellent tour on numerous occasions over the years and have learned something new or seen something different every time. It takes about 45 minutes and is extremely reasonable in price. The guides are friendly and knowledgeable and there are some nice models of the castle down through the ages on view as well as the keep... More

Visited Trim Castle with my wife and 2 year old. Castle situated in centre of lovely wee village. Parking appeared to be very limited beside the castle and is park n display so make sure you have some Euro's for the machine (€1 per hour). If you are like me you wanted to see the castle due to its links... More

Feast your eyes on a piece of history at Trim Castle. The exterior is well preserved and gives a good overview of the complexity of castle life. While we did not take the tour we walked the grounds and it is easy to feel transported in time. This Irish castle was used in the production of the Scottish story of... More
