Salo’ is inside the gulf with its name and this beautiful pedestrian street runs through it entirely.
All around the little Moreninici mountains
From here you can take ferry that connects Salo’ to the others cities on the Lake

Stopped here for dinner as we drove past and glad we did. Lovely promenade with plenty of great places to eat and a little market was on as well with nice home made products/ plants instead of the usual rubbish. We visited Friday evening so unsure if the market is daily.

We walked the full length of the promenade, admiring the views and watching the stalls being set up for the weekend festival. It is very well maintained, open and welcoming, and traffic-free. It is a shame that the path does not continue to Gardone, as we had to walk along the fast road once we reached the end.

We chose to go to Salo for our final day at the Garda Lake and it was the best choice ever. The town is very calm, the architecture is fascinating and the locals are really friendly. There aren't a lot of beaches but not too many tourist either so it wasn't crowded(don't forget your special shoes because these are rocky beaches) The restaurants are very good and because it's not a really touristy place, they're not overpriced and the food is authentic.

Staying in Gardone Riviera, we walked to Salò, joining the promenade right at the beginning. It was a pleasant walk on the lake front, with many pavement cafes and restaurants. If any criticism can be made, it would be that there could be more public seating and more shaded areas, this would have b en appreciated in 32 degrees and full sun. Altogether a lovely place to while away an afternoon.

Beautiful and long lake front. Never tire of it & you can walk for several miles. Lovely bars and restaurants line the front with some great (window) shopping in the smart designer shops.

Pedestrian only walkway along side Lake Garda with many restaurants and ice-ream shops, it is joy to wander along.
The only problem is that the quality of food served in the restaurants is well below average

Though famous for being the site during WWII of the Italian Social Republic, a continuation of the Fascist government, it is also known for having a nice city center. The place is very pleasant as the lakeside has a nice path with an amazing view across the lake.
