What a fun experience! We visited most of the museums and churches in the popular cities in Italy but loved visiting this site off the beaten path! The wood work, the frescoes (which you HAVE to know the story to appreciate, thank you Roberto!), and...More

A Benedicting Monastery and Abbey, the cloister walls were paitend with frescoes by Signorelly and Sodoma, the latter the most interesting one. Definitely worth visiting as they have all mods and cons.

Take a nice drive up to this remote location and you won't be disappointed. HINT: Do check opening times, you need to arrive early or after 3pm because the site is usually closed between noon & 3pm. Check the website since this can vary. We...More

You'll need perhaps an hour or so for the visit. We toured the church, the grounds and library on a Sunday so there were lots of people but certainly not crowded.

The idea of "reviewing" a place like this seems odd to me; MOM doesn't need my help, it is quite simply one of the wonders of the art world and a spiritual center of other worlds. Just take your time...often, you may even be alone...More

I believe our visit was on a Tuesday with Roberto. I remember the pickup was early morning, perhaps 8 or so? It was part of a full day of touring.
