I simply don't understand the fuss and reviews on the basis of this being a classic Tuscan view as it isn't; the best views are to be had from the hilltop towns and include vines, olive groves, rolling hills with mountains beyond punctuated by cypress...More

The star of any visit in this area besides excellent food and wine is the scenery. The Crete Senesi warrants a well planned long leisurely drive to take in the sights and be able to avoid traffic, you will not regret it, and with many...More

More than 20 years I have searched for a perfect spot to buy at a reasonable price. That does not exist but I found the nearest best thing with allot of land in Montisi.

If you want a beautiful drive through Tuscany, this is it. It offers "big sky" vistas of a range of sparsely settled hills and woods that you will miss on the more heavily traveled autostrada. Along with the sweeping landscape it includes the beautiful monastery...More

We took this drive, south of Siena, in late October. It was very scenic, with lots of opportunities to pull over for photos. You will see some very Tuscan scenes on this drive. This area is much different than other areas of Tuscan, such as...More

As others have said, the strange almost lunar landscape is well worth seeing. It is very different to the rest of Tuscany. My only advice would be to go earlier in the year than we did (we drove through in August). The cereal crops had...More

This is where all the red bricks of Tuscany come from. The cliffs, eroded by centuries of weather keep crumbling and give a fantastic view.

Wonderful scenery, great winding roads, definitely worth a detour to this part of Tuscany. The photos are still in the camera but they will probably do injustice to the views.

This is an unbelievably beautiful landscape - strongly recommend you take as many back roads as you can!

Beautiful countryside as far as the eye can see. We went in October, so one could think that the lack of crops on the fields would make the area look drab. However, there was a quite beauty all around us, which contributed to our relaxing...More
