The chronicles of Narnia

Lovers of C.S. Lewis’s classic series The Chronicles of Narnia will surely wonder at the connection between Narni and Narnia. It is said that Lewis chose the name for his fantastic world because he had come across Narni’s Roman name Narnia in a classical atlas.<br>Not only fans of the saga will love this place but also all people who love the medieval world and the wonderful small Italian villages!

This museum now houses two paintings that were once elsewhere: the Coronation of the Virgin by Domenico Ghirlandaio and an Annunciation by Benozzo Gozzoli. They are well presented in a darkened room, well lit and explained. They are really the only things worth seeing in this museum but they are worth the effort of getting there (on the top floor). My wife was using a wheelchair and there was a lift she could (and did) use, but it seemed to be outside the main building and it was a bit of an effort to manage the process.
