Great snorkel spot for beginners. Only problem is the crowds. Natural pools made of lava with easy access. Wine museum worth a visit. Interesting and the guides working there were excellent.

You're swimming between natural lave rocks that were formed thousands of years ago. The gov't has done a wonderful job at creating safe swimming pools, life guards on duty, washrooms that are cleaned regularly, showers and different food 'trucks' along with a restaurant. A picnic...More

Swimming between the lava rocks, how weird and special could that be. In this place they make it happen in a safe way. The water was rather cold in the beginning but once started you never want to stop swimming here.

The beach of "Praia dos Biscoitos" is different from all that you have ever seen before. You can find lots of natural swimming pools with sea water. We went were there in Aprilso the water was still a little cold to swim.

The lovely Biscoitos Natural Swimming Pools are located on the northeast coast of the wonderful Terceira Island. We went in April which was too cold for swimming, so we just walked along the paths near the lava rocks and enjoy the views... It is so...More

You can swim in these amazing sea pools, and others just to the east of biscoitos. In fact, the whole island has loads of sea swimming spots, some wilder than others. Just get a map, and choose a place marked with a swimming icon, and...More

The ocean pools are not used by local people or anyone else for swimming at that time of year because the water is simply too cool. The water temp is approx. only 17 - 20 C depending on location and active currents. Despite... More
