Such a short ride but saved me some pain. had to pay return fare even though the lift would be closed when we wanted to go back down to the lower town.

Save your energy (especially OAP's) with 165/170 paces to the top depending on your gait, I say paces because there are landings in-between the steps to get to the top which is all part of the exercise. Children love the experience of the cliff railway.

Same cars and technology as when we lived locally in 1960s. Brilliant view of Low Town Bridgnorth especially when going down! Remember there are 175 steps up Stoneway Steps if you take the hard way up to High Town.

This is a must do when visiting beautiful Bridgnorth. Save your legs and take in the view from high to low town. Really nice little trip.

We walked down from high town but caught the cliff railway back to the top, it is a unique pice of heritage not to be missed

A unique way of getting up and down the steep steps. For a small fee which is a return ticket you can experience an old fashioned travel journey up and down the cliff side. Friendly staff

If you don't want to walk up and down Cartway hill, try the cliff railway. Historic, inexpensive and you will be helping preserve this for future generations.

There are plenty of restaurants - chain and otherwise - in a relatively small area - you'll most likely be able to find something you like.
