I started out on the A Y Jackson visitor center side. Quick easy walk to the viewing platform of the waterfall. This would be ready for anyone that can't bike or tires easily.

If you want the best views and a good hike park down the road at alt parking and walk up the sand hill.

This starts off with bike up the hill to somewhat groomed trail to the Bridge and other viewing platform. I would think most Paul's don't make it here since it is a bit of work.

If you like to hike like I do and enjoy more technical hikes there is also a 2km loop just past the bridge. I ventured Down the rocks to get better views.

I would recommend good shots for this as the rocks can get slippery even on days it has not rained.

Go to the Lookout Point I think it's called AJ lookout 5 minute walk or less and you will see the falls from a distance the first Lookout is stroller-friendly then there's a lot of rocks if you continue

With a broken wrist I wasn't able to do the usual full walk, so we went to the Lookout, new museum and over to the bridge. With the wet summer the cataracts were roaring! The small rock museum is good, but the docents didn't bother to come and see us. As well some overseas visitors didn't know you could take an easy walk the other side of the river. Great parking.

It’s a beautiful place, in google it’s not showing proper route towards falls. To view Onaping falls and lookouts need to reach to A.Y. Jackson Lookout and from there there is a hike trail which leads to falls. Definitely visit this place when you are in Sudbury.

Onaping Falls is the place you can spend a few hours easily. Good for any season but gets a full colors in middle of October, when mosquitos are gone and trees are yellow.
Just walk up to any convenient place and watch.
Unfortunately, some people still trying to express themselves with spray pain everywhere. I think the result will be opposite. Especially for political signs.

Good fall outing but you need to be able to climb the trails. So bring runners or hiking boots and I wouldn’t go in wet weather. We did both walks, the one from the sandy parking lot to the bridge and the main one by the visitor centre. We were there on a Saturday and it was busy so bring your Covid mask. Nice fall foliage. I’m sure the falls themselves are more spectacular during spring run off. Read the plaques or do a bit of google searching. The geological story of these falls is interesting. I don’t care for the AY Jackson painting but that’s a good story too.

This is a very nice side trip from Sudbury. Started from AY Jackson Lookout and took the trail to the bridge. Please note that the first part of the trail is VERY rocky and you need appropriate footwear. Sometimes it is hard to navigate along the rocks so be very careful. After the rocky descent from the lookout, it is a nice walk along the water with great views, up to the bridge.

We camped at Windy Lake park and travelled to the A Y Jackson lookout. The info centre was closed because of covid. There is a well marked trail offereing views of the falls. The trail is rugged and proper footwear and being in good shape are a must. The falls are spectacular. Definitely a must see.

Not quite what I was expecting - other reviews make it a lot more "dramatic" and bigger than it really is. The falls are beautiful. There is a bit of a walk from the visitor centre (closed due to COVID) or if you travel a bit further to a sandy parking lot you are a lot closer to the falls.
