We did a tour here yesterday and it instantly became one of our favorite wineries in the Mendoza region. The owner greeted us with a glass of young wine, then her son, Ramiro, joined us shortly after to conduct the tour in English. I appreciated his laid-back approach, which removed the sense of pretentiousness you often get at wineries. Ultimately, wine is both a science and an art, and Ramiro's passion for both sides shined on the tour. It was also the only bodega that allowed us to sample such an extensive range, including grape juice at the very beginning of fermentation and wine directly from the barrel. If you are interested in an informative tour and approachable atmosphere with fantastic wine to boot, look no further than Bodega Pulmary!

We dropped in just.after harvest and processing. We had great tasting with owners grand daughter. Barrel tasting was educational, then we learned about beer making. Had several beers which were excellent. Friendly and great.value in town and easy to get to.

The Bodega is steps away from the main street of Chacras de Coria in Viamonte. A blessed relief from all of the huge wineries. Superb wine tastings with the most delightful host and his staff. There is a small eatery serving simple delicious food which complement the wines with - to our delight an English translation of the menu. For the attention and detail to our visit a Michelin Star is to be deserved.

TERRIBLE. Funny that this is the SECOND time the son of the owner has let down customers. Our food took over an hour to get to us...the son KNEW this and STILL gave us a dessert wine, CLAIMING that he did not know that we did not have our food yet. He gave us attitude through
We told his poor mother about his behavior where he then had a tantrum, which was NOT attractive, in front of all of us, screaming that is was our fault that he forgot our food! we sat there in total disbelief...he was like the spoiled child you see in films, not in real life.
His poor mother...she was a lovely and apologetic but not surprised. you could feel her frustration. Overall, AVOID and go down the road to Alta Vista Winery.

This is a family run business in the centre of Chacras De Coria, they make wine the old fashion way. Cost is 30 peso's pp (about £4.50). We just turned up and were given a lovely glass of Rose until the manager came out and greeted us. After we had finished our wine we met him and toured the property, it is small and doesn't take long, you get to taste 3/4 very nice red wines, the make organic wine. The thing that made the tour for us was that the manager who took us round was very interesting and we spent quite a while chatting to him and it is smack in the middle of the village which makes it very easy to access.

We came to eat lunch and arrived at a good time when the restaurant was not yet too busy. We were immediately asked for orders and we ordered drinks, steak and a sandwich. After waiting for an hour(!) the waitress came to tell us that they have run out of the ingredients for the sandwich, so I would have to order something else. At this time, she still hadn't brought us our drinks! We were very hungry so I said I'll take anything they have available. She had also already forgotten how my boyfriend wanted his steak, so she asked for that again. My boyfriend had originally asked for well-done, but considering how long we had waited and how hungry we were, he changed for rare.
At this point we started looking around to see whether other people were still waiting for their food as well. We realised that the couple who had arrived exactly at the same time with us had already finished their meals. A few minutes later we still had nothing to drink and we saw another couple who had arrived more than half an hour after us to receive their foods. Seeing this, we called the waitress back and told that we will not be staying as it seems that we're not getting served here.
I understand that sometimes mistakes can happen (and I truly hope this was only a random human error), but once the mistake has been noticed by the staff, they should apologize right away and at least bring something to drink on the house while waiting. I also don't really understand how a mistake like this can happen in a place where other people in tables next to us keep on receiving foods and drinks - someone from the staff is walking past our table constantly, thus should realise that we have still not been served. I understand food taking time, but what about a bottle of water??

I´m deeply sorry for your inconvenience! I am the owner I was there that day but I wasn´t able to check on our visitors! and I wasn´t notice of the problem. We are in the middle of the harvest so I was focus on crushing the grapes.
My deepest apologies.

Not for everyone this and very easy to see how it could divide opinion...
What you're getting is something is the opportunity to go around a winery with one of two family members when we were there - Diana (the mother) or Ramiro (the son) - both of whom are wine makers.
So, what you have is the chance to go around a winery with an actual wine-maker, not a tour guide, and of the eight wineries we visited it was the only place where that happened.
What you're not getting is the glitz or glamour of Alta Vista, which is nearby. Nor are you getting the slickness of Alta Vista, who require you to turn up a set times.
This is a turn up and be shown around job, where you'll either be lucky (as we were) and be shown around straight away. Or unlucky and have to wait. As a consequence, I can easily see how the family's willingness to be flexible could make you feel like the place is disorganised and unprofessional.
This is a place to go if you want to know more about the wine making and the ethos and choices that a real wine maker has and makes. We got a huge amount out of our tour with Diana and our subsequent quick chat with Ramiro.
It's not a place to go if you're just in it for the wine consumption or are in a rush.
Lunch - rib-eye steak prepared over an open fire on a plough thing - was well cooked, tasty (one of the best steaks of the trip) and reasonably priced (150 pesos). Service wasn't quick, but we could see the food being cooked and given that it's one of the few wineries open at lunch time and you'll anyway have to wait for other places to re-open after lunch then there's little reason to be in a rush.
Overall it was one of our favourite tours as it was lovely to be able to talk to people who are so obviously passionate about what they are doing.

When we arrived the son barely noticed us and had no interest to guide us. He told us to sit, gave us a glas of wine without telling anything about the wine. The tour took about 15 minutes and was really undetailed. This bodega is supposed to be famous for organic wines (and that´s why we went there) but the guy told us nothing about the process. He moved from one wine to another without telling us anything about them, so we didn´t really know what we were drinking. Nor did we have time to actually taste the wines because the guy was in a hurry. In general, the guy concentrated only in flirting with two American girls. Also, the tour was supposed to be in Spanish but he changed the language suddenly into English.
After the tour we had lunch at the bodega´s restaurant which was overpriced in respect to the continent. We had a parilla vegetariana that consisted only of grilled vegetables without any source of protein. After receiving the meals we were forgotten completely and we had to ask for the dessert wine. After receiving the last wine he did remember to charge us, however. We paid and just left. By the time the son had disappeared already.
All in all, this place was a huge disappointment. We recommend you to skip this and visit other bodegas instead.

Parrillada de Verduras is not the same as Vegetarian. The parrillada consist in only grilled vegetables. It is not a source of proteins!!!!
On the tour we pour wines from the tank the barrel and from the bottle it is a very technical tasting. Not for beginers. Flirting is a terrible verb to use in a tourism critic. I guess you drink a lot to much wine in the other wineries.
Thanks

Good to see that wineries in Argentina are not always looking at producing these bold and overripe Cab Sauvignon or Malbec s (according to some wine makers this is what the consumer want s ??). Pulmary has a refreshing concept in regards to what to produce and what to sell to the consumers and with this new approach they produce amazingly good wines. Go there and have some lunch with the wines and you ll understand what I m trying to say.
