This is a must if you're staying locally or travelling through. Lovely gardens and forest with well cared for walks along the river. Great for a short walk or couple of hours if you have the time. And it's free.

We went to see the memorial and information about a soldier called Malone killed at Gallipoli. Lovely setting, nice tribute to a very courageous man.

Traveler's should stop here and stretch their legs. A lovely walk through native bush, over three bridges across the Patea River. In season the Rhododendrons are superb.

Recently we visited Stratford for my husband's family reunion. We walked through King Edward Park which was lovely with several bridges and one swinging bridge which fascinated our grandson. It is a lovely and peaceful place to visit if you are out for a walk.

Walk through the lovely natural setting. See the rhododendrons in season the colour is amazing. Enjoy the swing bridge or throw stones in the river.
