This attraction is part of the Wilkies Pools track from the DOC visitors centre at Dawson Falls in the Mt Taranaki National Park. The track has recently been boardwalked so is suitable for all abilities right up to Wilkies Pools which is a river cascading down large boulders into a series of pools. The track forms part of a circular... More

The walk was magical. There were so many birds there all making their presence known by song and actions. The plants were amazing and the walk ended with a magnificent view of the mountain over the swamp

i actually walk the enchanted trail and all in all it took me around 4 hours. The swing bridge was pretty nerve wracking! The entire place can be imagined through a Lord of the Rings 'lens' so if you wish to immerse yourself in that world or just take in a great walk, that can be tough going at times,... More

Even in the rain this was a lovely place . Would have done Dawson Falls too, but we ran out of time. Will be back to do that and the Forest again!

We drove up as far as the Stratford Plateau, although I think you can start over by Dawsons falls. Use the bathroom at the Stratford Mountain House down the road because there are no toilets at the Plateau car park. We walked through the bush past Wilkies Pools to Dawsons Fall and back through the Goblin Forest. It was an... More

Great walk for any time of the year. On a hot day the forest provides a cooling shade, or shelter from the wind, or cover from the rain. All the trees have character and the track is accessible for most.

This is a pretty walk, 1 of several in this area. But was expecting a sign saying "Goblin Forest" or something. It is only a short walk, around 10 mins. Don't park in the lodge carpark. It isn't signposted, but play it safe and park across the road. Staff are quite to the point about asking you to move.

This was one of my favorite activities on the North Island. We ended up going in the rain when no one else was up there and it was awesome. We did the whole Wilkie's pool track and it was one of the prettiest hike I've ever been on (and I live in Hawaii!). Everything about it was just breathtaking. It's... More

We read some where this walk can be a bit spooky - not the case you feel like you are in an enchanted forest and if you let your image run you could be in a pleasant fairy tale

Great little walk that had very spooking looking trees covered in moss. Really does look like something out of a fantasy novel. There is a few picnic benches where you can hear Tui's as you have lunch. Also did Dawson Falls that day ! Well worth the drive.
