When you walk amoung the moss covered Kamahi trees there's a real sense of peace and tranquility. Nature at it's best. The various shades are green are beautiful.

The walk was magical. There were so many birds there all making their presence known by song and actions. The plants were amazing and the walk ended with a magnificent view of the mountain over the swamp

Even in the rain this was a lovely place . Would have done Dawson Falls too, but we ran out of time. Will be back to do that and the Forest again!
We drove up as far as the Stratford Plateau, although I think you can start over by Dawsons falls. Use the bathroom at the Stratford Mountain House down the road because there are no toilets at the Plateau car park. We walked through the bush...More
Great walk for any time of the year. On a hot day the forest provides a cooling shade, or shelter from the wind, or cover from the rain. All the trees have character and the track is accessible for most.
This is a pretty walk, 1 of several in this area. But was expecting a sign saying "Goblin Forest" or something. It is only a short walk, around 10 mins. Don't park in the lodge carpark. It isn't signposted, but play it safe and park...More
