The Tank Museum brings history to life, with the world's best collection of tanks and explosive live displays.

See almost 300 armoured vehicles as you explore seven powerful exhibitions. "The Tank Story" details tank history from 1915 to the present. "Battlegroup Afghanistan" transports you to the modern front line. In "The Second World War - Discovery Centre", you'll see the breadth of our unique collection plus "Fury" uncovering our involvement in the film. Following the First World War centenary commemorations, explore "The Trench Experience" and "Warhorse to Horsepower".

New for 2015, "Tank Factory" tells the story of the tank makers.

We visited on a dreary day. The tank museum does what it says on the tin. It has loads of tanks some of which are enormous and all of which are scary reminders of how awful war combat must be. I recall visiting here in the late 60's, when I was a child, and being thoroughly impressed. This visit I... More

As you would expect this museum is full of tanks, I mean FULL of every type from first invention to modern day. It's fascinating if you are interested in the history of warfare. There are quite a few hands-on exhibits for children although in general the museum could do with a revamp. Expect to spend at least 1 1/2 hours... More

We decided to go to the tank museum as we were staying in the area over night, the wives were not to keen, all they could think of was boys with there toys, and they were going to be board. Both our partners admitted after a few minutes walking through the trenches it was far from what they imagined, the... More

Fascinating day out in Dorset. Is quite amazing this attraction is in the beautiful county of Dorset rather than in London or another city. Seeing real Tiger tanks from WW2,brilliant . The cafe is also very very good And free to return for another fix. Just great !

The tank museum is a fantastic day out, the museum has spent a large amount of money on the exhibits in the past 12 months and I notice the difference from my last visit. I thoroughly enjoyed the WWI trench system and the Fury exhibit. Staff are friendly and helpful and the museum also puts on a large amount of... More

We all had a cheese and salami panini with salad . They were well cooked and presented with coleslaw and salad garnish which was nice. The prices were very reasonable and staff friendly which was a pleasant surprise As we were looking at tanks all day it was good to refuel with something tasty!

Fantastic museum, you've got to go. Loved it. Great staff too. The range is amazing and such great displays. There's so much to see. Allow a good 3 hrs to view the attractions. I went for the Tigers, amazing. Henschel & Porsche turrets! The Tiger 1 and Hunting Tiger were incredible. Go go! You'll love it. Worth the 4 hr... More

We recently visited as a family and what a lovely museum. There was so much to see and do and we didn't have enough time to see it all, thankfully are tickets are valid for a year so we can go back and visit. There was so much to take in and for the children they get a passport where... More

I visited the museum with my husband, niece and nephew. I have always been interested in history but in most museums the exhibits are behind glass or at an arms length. You can't really get close to them. This place allows you to walk up to the tanks and see just how big they are and you smell the engine... More
