The Tank Museum brings history to life, with the world's best collection of tanks and explosive live displays.

See almost 300 armoured vehicles as you explore seven powerful exhibitions. "The Tank Story" details tank history from 1915 to the present. "Battlegroup Afghanistan" transports you to the modern front line. In "The Second World War - Discovery Centre", you'll see the breadth of our unique collection plus "Fury" uncovering our involvement in the film. Following the First World War centenary commemorations, explore "The Trench Experience" and "Warhorse to Horsepower".

New for 2015, "Tank Factory" tells the story of the tank makers.

My 5 year old loves this place. Lots to look at and all indoors. Cafe, soft play, wifi for mum. My only beef is that Service families do not get a discount unless the person in the forces (generally Dad) is there with their ID card - and many are away for 7 months at a time, with the kids... More

Went to the tank museum day one of our holiday had a great time very interactive for the children which is very important to us as bored children is not a good thing! There is also plenty for adults to see and read about great place I also really liked the vehicle conservation building which wasn't there last I went.

Was far better than I expected, very interesting and blimey, just when you think you've seen every tank ever, there's another warehouse sized room of them! Great value to get in and the food was good value too for a museum

The Tank Museum is well worth a visit . Not far from Weymouth and even more nearer Dorchester in Dorset . £14 per adult to get in, but it will allow you to go back within the year for free . Tanks galore from the very first tank "Little Willy" to the most present that served in the Gulf .... More

Second visit although the first was over 10 years ago - my partner is an ex tankie 9/12th Royal lancers and was stationed at Bovington for 2 years in total so this is a"bus mans holiday" for him For myself and our 9 year old daughter we spent an enjoyable 4 hours - well worth the entrance fee. Very informative... More

Always love this place, there seems to be something new every time I visit. This time it was the new Tiger Exhibition which is a work in progress but is very impressive at the moment. I will certainly return later in the Spring when it's finished.

This is our 3rd visit to the Tank museum and it doesn't fail to give something new at each visit. It's great for children and adults. My favourite part is going through the trenches makes you feel as of you were there and I feel humbled at the people who gave their lives up for us to be here today.... More

We took our grandsons again during half term. We have been to the tank museum many times and They still thoroughly enjoy their visits. There is always something new to see. We will probably go again before the year is out as new exhibitions are in the pipeline.
