You literally enter 100 years back in time here. You can sense the atmosphere when famous culture persons were having gatherings in the living room.

Halosenniemi is a handsome log building by the Lake Tuusulanjärvi. It was the atelje and home of a great Finnish painter Pekka Halonen. It also was a meetingplace to other artists by the lake.

Fine spacious villa on the lakeshore with beautiful views and a fine collection of Finnish Romantic paintings. Helpful staff. English translation of notes available.

Located on a cove in the island. Beautiful, picturesque house with stunning views and fascinating display of art. Well worth a trip.

Halosenniemi does not have free guided tours as does Ainola (if you Book advanced) but with around 30 € costing tour you do get a better picture than alone. The community of Finnish golden era artists is one of the most interesting and charming places...More
