Berühmt geworden ist die Winklmoosalm als Heimat der Ski-Olympiasiegern von 1976 Gold- Rosi Mittermaier. Das bei aktiven Wintersportlern weithin bekannte und beliebte Skigebiet hat auch in den drei anderen Jahreszeiten seine besonderen Reize.Die sehenswerte Hochalm, mitten in den Chiemgauer Bergen, liegt auf 1200 m Höhe und ist nur 10 km von Reit im Winkl entfernt. Ein Besuch lohnt sich vor allem wegen der traumhaften Landschaft und wegen des großartigen Panoramas mit Blick auf die Loferer Steinberge (2503 m).Das Almgebiet ist ein Hochplateau zwischen Dürrnbachhorn (1776 m) und der Kammerköhrplatte (1870 m) und somit ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für ausgedehnte Wanderungen, Mountainbike- und Fahrradtouren, aber auch für erholsame Spaziergänge durch ruhige Bergwälder und über sonnige Almwiesen.

365 days per year, one of the most beautiful town in the World (went there over than 15 times) clean, interesting for sports, lovely people, superb food, places to dance to walk to practice sports, a special place created by GOD.

This is a beautiful compact little town with great hiking and mountain views. There are many shops and restaurants to choose from. Definitely worth a visit.

Well, No one is born a master. We had a trainee as service person so the person did not know so many details about prices, for example. But she was friendly and searched for the information she did not know. And she was not alone...More

We needed info about mountain hikes and shuttle buses and we got it easily in German and English. The lady was clear and friendly.

Easy to park ( €5 per day ) and easy access to ski hire and beginners slopes. Free buses take you up to slightly more advanced runs. Allow plenty of time to get kitted up in the hire shop. Excellent staff in the Intersport hire...More
