This is a massive fortress with lots of history - both as a military facility and a detention facility. It is possible to stroll around without a guided tour (we did), which lets one appreciate how large this fortress is. The views from the ramparts are breathtaking.

If you are in Klodzko County, I strongly recommend to visit this fortress. It is huge and in good condition. We had self-guide tour and there are many information boards with sufficient details (PL, CZ, EN, DE). The fortress is huge, optimal time for visit are two hours (without labyrint!). There are several places with beautiful views of city and... More

First part was going through the Underground Labrinth of some of the Tunnels, and while we joined a group who were doing the tour and the guide only spoke Polish we could read some of the plaques on the walls before we went in so we understood what was going on. If you are Claustrophobic then this is NOT for... More

Fortress Klodzko (Twiedza Klodzko) is very interesting. It was a long steep walk to the entrance. The ground is uneven. We were with a group and had a English speaking tour guide. The fortress had a good story with lots of history behind it. When you reach the top you have a spectacular view of the town.

Nothing for an English visitor. Not worth the effort of getting here. No.chance if you are not reasonably fit steep climbs over uneven cobbles. The town itself is dull.

We caught the train from Wroclaw, where we were staying(67zl.for two people return tickets). Just a 20min walk from the station, and looking up, you see the fortress, located high up above the town of Klodzko. A steep walk up to the entrance over uneven ground, take care as you need sturdy footwear. We just had the self guided tour,... More

Took a public MiniVan Bus from Wroclaw; to see this midievel town, with its awesome Fortress overlooking it. The Fortress was of course the highlight of the visit; and quite interesting. Recommended.

Klodzko Fortress is an unique and extremely interesting fortification complex in south-western Poland. With its underground labyrinths gives a mysterious and knowledgeable history lesson. My husband absolutely loved the visit! The view from the top is beautiful. It is a great attraction for families with kids 6+ in my opinion. Klodzko is a pretty and quaint town and historically very... More
