This is a beautiful marble building in Vila Viçosa. Good place to have some pictures. Do not forget to also go to the near marble mines, distant 5 minutes.

Excellent tour, with many original furnishings. Unfortunately tour is offered in specific languages at different times - not necessarily your language when you want to tour. Also, NO PHOTOGRAPHY. I understand no flash due to age of furnishings, paintings and decor, but photography without flash...More

This was well worth a visit, although frustratingly the English tour was cancelled as the guide was ill, so we had to have the tour in Portuguese. However, occasionally he did tell us a little in English, and we had an English leaflet to help....More

It's a nice place to see how the Portuguese monarchy lived in the 18th, 19th and beginning of the 20th century.

We were there about 10.00am but went round on an organised tour with the travel company. Anyone who enjoys stately homes will love this place.
