- Vanessa M5 contributionsGreat day out with the familyThe park is small and great for young children, although there’s also a few slides for adults which were good fun for us adults. The park is very clean, lots of lifeguards that seemed to be really paying attention to what was going on. We spent the full day there from 10:00 to 17:00. We bought lunch there, food was tasty and affordable, although you could bring your own food in if you wanted to. I would really recommend this place to families with young children.Dear visitor, thanks a lot for your visit and your review. we are glad that you enjoyed your time with us RegardsWritten September 28, 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten September 27, 2023
- suziecoop01Galashiels, United Kingdom302 contributionsAmazing for young independent children, expensive for the accompanying adults.Fabulous full day spent here with a water loving 4 yo. Daughter absolutely loved it here as she found a friend and they entertained themselves. For paying adults it’s expensive to sit and watch your child go on things you can’t enjoy with them. The wave machine was also ruined by a family allowed to play with a hall instead of making use of the actual waves! The photographers pushed too hard and took up a lot of our time trying to get posed shots. We are delighted that your children enjoyed our park.Thank you for your comments, we will take them into account to improve our services.Written October 15, 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten October 14, 2023
- CloiserDublin, Ireland29 contributionsSmall but fairly priced and great for independent kidsWe booked this before reading the reviews and felt the reviews were quite unfair. Yes they are a bit finicky on stuff like food (search your bags) and not allowing basic asks (groups arriving seperately as with our group) But all in all, we spent 4 happy hours going down the 5 slides, our 8 and 11 year olds were delighted with it. Bring a UV top though! Lockers are a bit pricey and prob not really necessary if you are in a big group No loungers but seats are comfy and coffee and beers were nice. We didn’t eat here. Arrived 10:30 to no queue. Wave pool was a bit disappointing but all in all a good trip. Doubt it would be fun with younger kids as that area was really small so can see why some reviews say it’s a quick visitThank you very much for your comments and your evaluation of our attractions and our facilities. - Josh RWarrington, United Kingdom633 contributionsFab day outWe had a great time when we visited the park. We paid on arrival and got 50% off the three kids entry fee which was a nice touch (if we had booked online this wouldn’t have happened). The large splash pool has loads of slides and play areas which kept our three entertained for hours. The eldest loved the four larger slides and lazing around the lazy river/playing in the wave pool. Lunch was ok. We opted for chicken burgers and hotdogs. Although the food was good, it was expensive compared to restaurants we had eaten in around the area and sadly you have no option to eat elsewhere unless you leave the park and you can’t take in your own food so it’s a captive audience. Our only slight niggle is that some of the flooring has lots of little bumps on it and some are quite sharp so worth walking round in flip flops rather than bare feet. Overall we had a great time and will visit again next time we are in the area.Dear family thanks a lot for your visit and your review. - Adele CWigan, United Kingdom32 contributionsBasic park, but it's okayBasic waterpark, but okay. It's not massive, but if you have your expectations set right then you won't be mega dissapointed. It was very quiet when we visited in November, but given it was walking distance in playa blanca, we opted for here rather than having to travel to another park. Water was warm enough. Only 5 slides, lazy river, wave pool and a kids sprinkly water pool thing. As 2 adults in their 30's we enjoyed it. But if you had teenagers who like lots of different slides, then I probably wouldnt recommend it. Nor are there many rides for young children (I think there was a height limit of 1.2m?). You can take in water, but not food. Not many lockers, but it's not a massive park, we got one fine. Food was your typical theme park prices. Yes its dearer than the local supermarket/shop ice cream (3.4 euro for a magnum), but its not ridiculously expensive. I don't think you could stay all day here, we only did a few hours (10-1), but we got to go on the slides with no queues at all, lazy river was nice, but not huge. Sadly, I don't think I'd pick this park again (it was the lazy river that I wanted more than the slides), but I'd still recommend it to others, but just don't have your expectations set at siam park or blizzard beach level and you'll be fine. I think it's attached to the hotel next door who get free entry into it.Dear visitor, thanks a lot for your visit and your review. - Penny374Margate, United Kingdom231 contributionsGood funGood points The staff are helpful and polite It’s nice and clean Things to do with older and younger children What’s there is good and really good fun. It was not to busy so we went on everything as we liked. Visited with and 5 and 11 year old There are lockers and showers and again very clean Bad points You can’t come and go. Therefore you’re stuck eating onsite the food is ok but not the cheapest. It’s not very big but if you know that before booking you know what your getting It was a bit cold we went in December and lucky it was a sunny day so we could warm up in the sun. It is heated but it only really takes the chill off at this time of year.Thank you for your stars and for sending us your perceptions which we like to continue improving our services a little more every day. Not the biggest water park we have visited but clean and good fun enough to entertain for a day. The food was pretty good for buffet service but you have to pay extra for a decent cocktail. The main thing was that the children all had a wonderful time and didn't want to leave at the end of the weak. - JimBelfast, United Kingdom41 contributionsNeeds more inflatables for slidesBeen here a few times over the years. This year noticed there was a real shortage of inflatables/rubber rings to go down the slides. It’s not much fun standing at the bottom each time waiting for an inflatable to become free. It’s obviously an issue as a life guard had to stand there every so often and ask people to share the inflatables. There are other slides which don’t need them but the best slides are those with inflatables. For the cost you’d not expect to have to stand about every time you go down the slide begging for an inflatable/rubber ring.Thank you very much once again for your visit. We will take into account asking our lifeguards to bring out more floats.Written July 28, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten July 26, 2024

A very (very) small water park, only has 5 slides with one long queue to get to them all.
The kids play area was good fun for 30 minutes or so.
The waves are only every hour
The staff search bags and take out snacks and drinks… didn’t see this advertised before entry. 2 Sprites then cost nearly €5 inside. the shop is tiny. The food was poor and pricey for what it was (processed burgers etc)
Under 8’s will enjoy it for 2-3 hours.
The transfer bus took 90 minutes from P Del Carmen with all the stops and was a nightmare trying to figure out which bus to get back. Bus arrived at 11am and pick up was 3pm.

Dear visitor,
Thanks a lo for your visit and for your review.
About not food or drinks allowed pass in in the park, you have the info in the web site and also at ticket office before you pay your ticket. sorry if you didnt see it.
Our food is too far to be processed. We have a cooking alive buffet with many options that we change daily (salads, meat at grill, pasta, fruit... and of course fast food for the people that want it)
About the transfer, you have to take account that public transport from pto del carmen take aroun 45-50 minutes to come to playa blanca and you come in a really busy day so have to take account that there were a lot of people in every bus stop to pick up. Is the inconvenience to get holidays in the same time that the rest of the people.
We hope you ejoyed the time in the island
regards

Visited here on the 21st of February. We had previously been here in 2015 but in July so it was a lot warmer then. We arrived at 11am, no queue whatsoever. Very expensive for 2 adults and 3 kids. Bags were searched for food which is a bit invasive I think. It was pretty busy inside and we could only find space to pitch up at the wave pool beside the smoking area. Why on earth does somewhere like this need a smoking area? Can people honestly not just enjoy the place with their kids and not have to keep running to the smoking area for a quick puff. So sad and pathetic. Very basic water park with a handful of slides and a very lazy river, no current at all. Nice kids area with small slides etc. The park is clean and well maintained with plenty of lifeguards.
The restaurant is bizarre, self service apparently but we waited 20 minutes for kebabs. Already being give the chips though. It was so weird. Had a dreadful coffee from the kiosk too..€5 for 2 cups of dishwater. Do yourself a favour and keep your money. At 5 o clock we were ran out the place by staff, kids barely given time to dress. Not sure I’d recommend unless it’s included in your holiday package and you can come and go as you please.

Came for a few hours on Saturday during a week’s holiday in Playa Blanca. Phoned ahead to check if we needed to book in advance and whether they still offer a discounted entry for arrivals after 3pm. Really friendly man on the phone confirmed everything and said we could just turn up. Short taxi ride from the hotel, arrived just after 3 and paid €50 for 2x adults and 2x kids, plus €4 for a locker and a €2 deposit. The man at reception spoke good English and was really helpful and friendly. We arrived in our swimwear so didn’t need changing rooms, which is good because we didn’t see any, but there is a lot of room in the toilets. There were signs to showers down a flight of stairs too but we didn’t check them out. The park itself is small, but perfect for a few hours and our kids (8 and 10) had an absolute blast going down the slides over and over again, plus the lazy river and wave pool. The waves are only activated for a short period once every hour (on the hour) which was a little disappointing. There was very little queuing for any of the attractions and we had no problems getting inflatables for the two slides that need them. The staff monitoring the slides were brilliant with both the kids and the grown-ups too. We didn’t need to try the food in the cafe or the small shop selling ice creams so can’t comment on any of that. The staff ordered us a taxi back to the hotel which was nice. Overall we had a really fun 3 hours and would recommend the park to anyone with kids a similar age to ours. Thanks Aqualava!

Where do I start, Aqualava is the smallest water park I have ever visited. It has one area of slides, a kids pool (which is good for kids), a lazy river which has insufficient water rings and a wave pool very small.
The problem is the lack of supervision at the exit area of the water slides, no queuing for rings to ride the water slides, people holding onto the rings, adults and kids pushing in front of kids queuing for a water ring to get in front to grab a ring to ride the slides.
I have never witnessed such behaviour at any other water park. My two daughters were waiting for over 10 minutes at the bottom of the slide area and not one person handed over the rings they had just used to ride one of the water slides, they took them out of the water and went back up to ride the slide again.
I went to ask a person who had just used a ring to hand it to others who were waiting, he said that he was not finished with it yet, mate.
When I tried to speak to one of the life guards, who was supposed to be supervising the area, he just smiled and shrugged his shoulders.
Very poor management of the area.
Now to the food, over priced and very poor quality. Again queue jumping, people grabbing at bread rolls and then putting them back, eating food straight from the servery, so unhygienic.
We ordered fresh cooked at the till and waited 10 minutes for half our order to arrive and then a further 5 minutes for the rest, shouldn't have bothered it wasn't the best.
You are not permitted to bring your own food into the park, your bag is searched on entry, however I witnessed many groups eating their own food oblivious to the rules of the park.
Well if you are planning a day to go to a water park, don't waste your money (I spend 150 euro) on Aqualava, it is not worth the money or the time.

We visited after 2pm so the entrance fee was half price - so glad it was and we didn’t pay for the whole day!
Our children aged 5 & 6 loved the lazy river (not enough rings) and the kids splash area but that’s all they could do.
The wave pool was absolutely packed and only turns on once an hour.
The 4 big slides have a height restriction of 120cm and you must be a competent swimmer to use them (they do check smaller children and no armbands allowed) also you cannot use if you wear glasses - my husband has a strap so the same as wearing goggles but a big fat NO!
They had completely sold out of ice creams and ice lolly’s and the waffles on offer were premade and heated in a microwave.
Every table was filthy and hadn’t been cleaned and the toilets were absolutely disgusting - most didn’t flush and there was no paper towels to dry your hands, if you wanted to shower before leaving these were down very wet and slippery stairs.
The life’s guards worked very hard and were good at keeping bigger children off of the small slides.
Definitely only worth a half day visit at a push!

First off they take any food off of you at the entrance that you've brought with you, so we had our picnic taken so we'd have to buy the over priced burgers and chips. We took our food outside the gate at lunchtime and sat and ate it on the wall.
It was a wet and windy day and the only warm drinks they had we're coffee. No tea or hot chocolate. there were only two people clearing tables and serving.
The rides are mediocre when compared to the price it costs to get in ($64 for two adults and a child + locker) Even by UK standards it's expensive. The bowl ride left me with a sore back because all the joints in the slide scrape your back as you go down. The wave machine only works once an hour, a strong wind in the opposite direction on the lazy river and you're going backwards.
Trying to get home on the buses was chaos. A couple of drivers trying to direct 100 or so guests to their coaches to go off around the island.
Won't be back or recommending it to friends

I should start by saying we visited the costa tequise water park in August which although needs updating had great Covid measures in place eg wiping handles of rubber rings, enforcing social distancing etc and is around the same price as aqua lava and about 4 times bigger! This is very small water park that does not allow you to take your own food absolutely no Covid measures in place. Not being able to take your own food means you have to use there canteen style restaurant which I saw children cough all over and touch food then put back. There is also shared utensils and the food is simply out on the side with no protection. The park itself consists of approx 5 largish slides, toddler splash park , a lazy river and a small wave machine. Also strict height measures in place meaning those with shorter children are forced to just use toddler pool. Hardly any hand gel about and rubber rings not cleaned some even had blood on them from people cutting themselves on the way down. I hate leaving bad reviews especially after the last few years but both my family and the 3 others that went felt disappointed.
Make this place a lot bigger and please put I. Place Covid measures especially in your dinning areas!

Dear visitor,
first of all thanks for your visit. Sorry for your perception but it is not according with the reality.
Aqualava is a waterpark with a security sign about COVID. all our clients need to use mask for go inside of restaurant or any indoor area. also before enter to the park we cheek the temperature of all our clients. We have distance signs in the floor in the concurrence areas like ticket office, lockers area, restaurant, ques of slides... Is right that the utensils for serve the food in te restaurant are shared but for this reason we have hidroalcoholic gel at every tipe of food area (in salad buffet, where meat and chips, in pasta buffet...)
About the desinfection we have to say that our staff desinfect the umbrellas and sunbeds after every family end to use it. About rings is not necesary desinfect with a lot of frecuency during the day because it are in the pool water which one have a virucide and bactericide treatment, so really it is desinfected. Also we have hidroalcoholic gel for hands around all the park and in every bin areas.
Aqualava work hard every day for asure the health of our visitors and we have he best COVID measures.
Thanks again for your time and hope that you enjoyed the rest of your holidays.

We spent a full day at Aqualava as a family of 11 people. The waterpark isn’t the biggest or flashiest but we were aware of that before going. The kids section was brilliant for our 4 year old. There were 7 small slides in total that he could go on. There were also splash parts and a wave pool and lazy river. He loved both of them. The larger slides require you to be 1.2m so our 4 year couldn’t go on but the 11 year old and adults (who enjoy water slides) had a blast. There are 5 slides that were really fun! Not the tallest or longest or biggest but they gave us all a laugh and a smile and were definitely fun!
The cafe was rather confusing and we had no idea how much items were or even what to do so that would benefit from being clearer.
You are allowed to take water in but aren’t allowed to take your own food in. You can however take a few snacks etc if someone in your group has an allergy or is diabetic etc.
Overall a fun day but don’t expect the biggest or wildest slides.

Spent the day here a few weeks ago.
Not the best water park, my son was bored after an hour. Not enough to do probably ideal for little ones.
No sun loungers just deck chairs.
People being stopped at the entrance & bag searched, staff confiscated drinks & snacks, and told to eat them off the premises as you can’t take them in with you.
So therefore you have to buy their food and drinks, which are small portions and not worth the money, the same as the ticket to the park.
The park was clean, no social distance especially in the restaurant area, staff were more bothered about men not wearing a t shirt than having a mask on.
Would not return a waste of money

Dear visitor,
first of all, thank you for come to Aqualava and for take your time and led your opinion.
Like you said, aqualava have plenty sun beds not sun lounge. We dont search in any bag, we just ask to our clients if they can show the bags because food or drinks are not allowed in the park except water just for safety & cleaning reasons. Any way, our clients have a short time for go out take their food and come back to the park, we dont obligate to nobody to buy in our restaurant but if the want to do it is better if they ask to our staff for the best recommendation. for example a salad portion of mixed salad or a made your self salad, a burger meal or kebab with chips for just around 7€.
About the safety rules, we are checking that every one use mask inside of the restaurant. outside is not obligatory like in the rest of the park.
We really sorry for your perception of Aqualava and hope that the rest of your holidays were fine.
Best regards

We visited the waterpark last week. We were a group of 2 adults and 2 children aged 10 and 7 and this was the children's 1st visit to a water park abroad.
There were plenty of sun chairs to pop towels on and have a break, lockers were available to store any valuables for a small cost.
The beach pool with the wave machine was good fun,the machine is popped on every hour and was great fun, when not on there was plenty of room to play and swim.
The splash pool had lots of little slides and tubes which helped build confidence.
The lazy river was great fun, plenty of inflatables to go round on if you chose bit we could also swim round quite easily.
The slides and flumes were brilliant.Out youngest was just on the height limit and had to show a small level of swimming competency coming off one of the slides before she was given the all clear to try the tricker ones which we thought was good for safety. Our son loved the bowl shute.
We purchased some food there which was reasonably priced and was tasty.
We spent the whole day at the park and we had a great time. There were plenty of life guards and the park was clean. It may nit be the biggest but was lots of fun for the whole family and our kids loved their 1st full water park experience😃

Are the weight restrictions on any of the rides and or the park?
Written May 9, 2024
Not that I know of.
I was there this weekend and only saw height restrictions i.e. the larger slides have a minimum hight of 1.20m.
They do let children of 1.10/1.15 go on if they are accompanied by and adult.

You can buy a weekly pass and you can go as many times as you want.
It’s available all the time.
Go on google and type in Aqua Lava water park and the website will come up.

Hello, can we leave the park to go have lunch back to the hotel next door and come back after lunch?

I do not think so, we were here all time. We had no wristband, just a paper bill. But maybe you can find the answer on their site. Enjoy your holiday. ;)

Hello! The pools should be heated, the air temperature is approximately the same all year round, so I think it will be the same. Maybe the air will be a little colder, we had around 30°C. Fun part is opened all year.
Have a nice holiday. ;) M

Are there weight-restrictions on the slides? I'm a plus size person and want to know in advance if I can ride them.

Are children under 100cm allowed to sit on a parents lap down the bigger flumes?
Written May 8, 2023
From memory no would be the answer as the height needs to be over 120cm. There us an area specifically for kids

The kids pool has about 4 small tube slides, a longer half tube slide and an open slide two kids could race side by side on. He could also use the wave pool and lazy river where you can float around on a raft.
He is only not allowed to do the 5 big slides, which are all accessed via the same stairs, so if you say he is not allowed to go that way then he will not think he is missing out on much, as everywhere else is good for him.
My 8yr and 3yr old enjoyed it for about 5 hours!
