The Castillo de las Coloradas was built as a defensive tower, at some less notable point in it's history an upmarket Marina and Hotel were build near by and it found it's self having to defend it's self against interested Brits and Germans. The round tower is located half way along a spit in the cliff, you can still walk... More

Not a lot to see. There is some info on the board on the footpath before walking out to the Castillo which gives a potted history. You can walk up the steps but nothing to see inside. No handrail so take care. Good views from the location so worth taking the camera!

The area around the Castillo has seen better days and could do with a tidy up. Weeds growing wild on the paths and paving stones missing. The soon to be built villas nearby may encourage a general tidy up of the immediate area which can only help. The views from the cliff top are superb. More info about the history... More

Castillo de las Coloradas is a very nice piece of Lanzarote's history, and has a great view on Playa Blanca...

Nice to look around, its a shame you can only walk over the little draw bridge and not actually get inside, worth a short walk from the Marina.

Nice piece of architecture but not much to see indoors. The entrance is locked so you can not see much through the locked barred gate. Worth having a photo stop though

Not really. The promenade that crawls around the coast of Playa Blanca is lovely in the sunshine. As you walk from Playa Blanca on the Av. Maritima towards Papagayo you will walk past this small nod to what little exists of historical significance around here. You cannot go inside and walking around it takes about 90 seconds. If you walk... More

A lovely old building that is worth a visit to, could do with having an information board outside telling you about the history of it as there's nothing at the Castillo telling you about its history.
