A walk from the marina to the lighthouse must be one of the nicest things one can do of an afternoon or in the cool of the evening. I have written a full article of this walk (Paseo Maritimo), but I won't just copy and...More

We walked to the lighthouse twice during our stay. The lighthouse is not open to the public but it was interesting to see the difference between the old lighthouse and the new much taller one. This part of the prom is much quieter with less...More

Apart from a good walk along the promenade (bus for the lazy) there is not much to see once you get there, couple of shops nearby.

Remains of old and 1980s lighthouse replacement on peninsula at far west of Playa Blanca. Some bars and hotels about 1km away

Badly in need of attention, covered in graffiti, however if you like watching the sun go down it is magic, with the waves crashing on the rocks. It needs a Cesar Manrique type makeover as it could be a wonderful tourist spot.

This place is like a derelict prison camp in the middle of a mud flat - which you would notice if it rained as you traverse the scrubland it is surrounded by. The grey depressingly derelict building is laced in Spaniards druggies graffiti and smells...More
