Well laid out with panoramic views in to the start of the sculpture park and wood. The gallery is light and airy with huge windows that make you feel right out in nature. Spectacular range of work with lots of Van Gogh's and his contemporaries. Well laid out and a joy to visit. One of the best galleries we've been... More

Once again, my family questioned the effort it took to get to a remote museum (from Amsterdam, a train, 2 buses, and a 2-km bike ride). That was until we walked into the first gallery--then silence, and awe at the stupendous art on every wall. If you're a van Gogh fan, you'll want to see the second largest collection of... More

Was there with a dear friend in 2013 who took me there as a surprise Sunday road adventure. After lunching at De Waldhoorn we approached the forest (awesome by itself) which nestles the museum and gardens. The main collection includes well known van Gough works not found in the AMS VG museum, but also many modern works (e.g. Picasso, Braque,... More

This was the second part of our day trip from Amsterdam. We visited the Het Loo Palace in Apeldorn in the morning and then caught a bus to Otterlo in the afternoon When we changed buses to get into the park in which the museum is located, the driver told us we had to purchase a one year pass for... The most beautiful surroudings for a Museum. Buy your tickets in advance and enjoy a walk through the forest of 'De Hoge Veluwe'.

To begin with, the architecture of the museum itself is a disappointment. The building has the appearance of an elementary school in central Indiana. About the Van Gogh display: Glass in front of his paintings? This is barbaric. Not only makes the glass it difficult to see the works without light and shape reflection opposite the painting, it becomes impossible... More

On a cold misty afternoon enjoyed visiting the museum and driving around the park. Took some nice photos.

Of course there is the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, however this one is everything you want to know about Vincent as well. AND ...... not the long lines to get in.

I love Van Gogh and this museum has featured a lot of Van Gogh's early work which I was tempted to go even I was not sure how to get there by myself via public transportation at the very beginning. I m surprised Even my Airbnb host and some local tour guide has told me they haven't been there even... More

This is a great museum, easy to get to by car but not sure about public transport. We saw the Van Gogh early years exhibition which was very interesting and great to see, but the regular art is also incredible. Some reasly beautiful Van Gogh paintings from the impressionist time, and a great range of styles and periods. The museum... More
