Balikligol and in fact the old town of Urfa exudes an atmosphere of calmness and peace. We visited in the month of September 2016 just before the festival of Kurban Bayran. The Balikligol itself was the centrepiece of Urfa and definately worth visiting. Families would picnic around the area especially on weekends and at night it look really spectacular with... More

Nice setting, but even nicer in the evening, and much more quiet! I loved the atmosphere, and there were almost no people except us. Perfect for pictures!

The cave of Abraham, Balikli Gol, Rizvaniye Mosque, Halil UI Rahman Mosque are very close basically in the same place. I am pretty sure we were the... More

With it's religious meaning, this small lake proves why people call Sanliurfa as 'the city of prophets'

At the top of the hill, you can see where they throw Prophet Abraham to fire with a catapult. Go and see then you never forget this... More

Enjoy a beautiful evening stroll along the waters of the pool, watching the sacred fish and recalling the legends surrounding the area. Make sure you take time to visit the nearby Cave of Abraham. A wonderful spot to envision ancient Edessa and the centuries of history it has seen.
