Minsmere is a great place to discover nature. The RSPB shop, cafe and visitor centre provide a perfect introduction before you explore the beautiful countryside walks. Enjoy stunning woodland, wetland and coastal scenery and close views of a wide range of wildlife, including many rare species. Families can begin their journey of discovery in the Wild Zone, or build a den in the Wildwood Adventure. The nearby Discovery Centre is perfect for school visits, birthday parties and exhibitions. Self-guided activities include a free explorer backpack to borrow, and there's a regular programme of events in school holidays. Seasonal wildlife highlights include: spring birdsong, nightingales and booming bitterns and nesting avocets; summer butterflies, flowers and nesting terns; autumn migrants, red deer rut and colour; winter ducks, evening roosts of birds and Christmas shopping. Volunteer guides are often available to help you identify Minsmere's varied wildlife.

A full day of delights .so much to see.abrilliant way to see a range of birds animals and flowers.only disapointment was we didnt get to see an otter but we did spy a female red deer in the morning .a highlight was the marsh harriers so majestic in flight.facilities are first class and well worth the entrance fee.

My Wife and I visited recently and were very impressed. There were two main circular walks to visit, each one offering the chance of seeing different species of birds and wildlife. There were also a number of hides where it was possible to watch the wildlife in a shelter. The restaurant was also reasonably priced.

We came here over 30 years ago and thought it brilliant for bird watching. And it still is! Great staff, very helpful. Particular thanks to the guy in the shop who helped me retrieve my mislaid spectacles.

Our 10th year of visiting for 2 weeks in the Spring. A super reserve with different habitats, excellent visitor centre and café and shop. Most helpful guides and staff. Many thanks.

First off, we have a dog and they are not allowed. We were travelling in quite a big caravan, so I rang ahead and asked if the roads in were caravan friendly and if there was parking. The lady I spoke to said yes, we could park in the coaches carpark. The roads in were not caravan friendly at all,... More

In many ways Minsmere reserve is a victim of its own success,I have been visiting this place for many, many years, and so has my family, but now it seems to be very commesiolised, maybe since The BBCs Spring Watch has been broadcasted from there, having said that, the variety of bird life to be seen at Minsmere is stunning, and the facilities there are superb,but... Never been here before so we had decided to see if we could ride round on our bikes. When we arrived we headed for the entrance. We were greeted by two staff members and so we asked the male assistant if we could cycle round, he said we could not as they do not allow bikes in the park. He... More

If you enjoy nature, this is one of the best days out in the UK. It's one of the RSPB's top nature reserves - their stats show that it has the most species of any of their reserves. It's huge, with a range of habitats and lots of footpaths and hides to enable you to see as much of the... More

What a wonderful place Minsmere is. One can see loads of different birds after having had some lovely food and a drink, inside or out. The walk around the area is beautiful and birds plentiful. There are hides in which one can sit for ages and ages and everyone is just sooo sooo helpful in telling you anything you want... More

We spent a week of holiday visiting RSPB Minsmere last week in all kinds of weather. For the really keen birdwatcher, dawn onwards is a wonderful experience to see the birds. The last week of April was a great time to visit as the leaves were not out on the trees and visibility of the birds was excellent. 09:00-17:00 the... More
