Hawk's Cliff is a small cliff overlooking lake erie. This local hotspot is by no means developed, but crazy popular for birders and substance abusers alike. This is a very dangerous location because of the cliffs steep and immediate decline. I recommend it for tourists and families only if you can keep your children at a distance as not to... More

Highly recommend attending one of their weekend events, great experience for kids & adults alike. Also a very peaceful place to go for a peaceful, contemplative stroll to get away from the hubbub of city life.

Hawk Cliff is a quiet place to take a walk and enjoy the view of the lake. Usually lots of birds to photograph

Though the edge is fenced off for safety reasons the new additional reserve will only help to improve what is Elgin County's birding spot.

Hawks cliff is lovely. The area was being surveyed by three young people who asked that we not walk ahead of them. We went on the private land and walked a cliff side trail. Lots of swallow like birds who made their home in the cliff.

I have come to Hawk Cliff every year for over 10 years and it never gets old. The 2nd & 3rd weekends in September brings out all the birders! With their binoculars volunteers count the number of raptors that fly by....because all migrating birds must come through the cliff as they head south. Experts attend and band some of the... More

We like hiking, well, actually we REALLY like hiking. Had hoped Hawk Cliff area would increase in size and it has. We had a lovely walk in the woods and along the ravine. No birds but can look forward that in the spring, all the smart birds have already headed south. The view overlooking Lake Erie is amazing? Great day... More

This is one of many locations along the shores of Lake Erie to view (and count--if so inclined) migratory hawks. Hawks tend to "kettle" on the up drafts when winds blow in from the Lake from the southwest. Kettleing can be spectacular. The area itself suffers somewhat from subsidence so one is advised not to wander much beyond barriers. Rough-legged,... More

Need a place to just breath and relax for awhile? A place that has a fantastic view of Lake Erie? A quiet place, except for the occasional squawk, screech, tweet or buzz from the birds and insects that also enjoy this space. Frequented by birders who watch migrations, do counts or who just like to visit, as we do. An... More

Weather was not for us on our trip to hawk cliff, wind in wrong direction and bright sunny sky. Went to two other spots were we saw bald eagles and a snow goose along with misc other birds including turkey vultures
