Great summer theater. Lighthearted shows well done. We saw every play this season. Admission is easy as you give your name then are checked off their list and directed to your seat. Professional actors are well directed. At intermission you can go onto the rooftop patio and enjoy the view.

This sweet little theatre goes the extra mile to make its patrons feel comfortable and pampered. Their shows are always top notch. This week we saw a new Norm Foster play: "Wrong for Each Other". The fast-paced dialogue and quick movement make the show a hit. Kudos to the two young actors who never miss a beat. "Wrong for Each Other" is another Norm Foster winner.

This visit was our first. The staff helped us with our walkers. The seating is comfortable and with a clear view.
The best part of our visit was seeing a first, the world premiere of "Our House", a comedy that sure made us laugh! Try to see a performance before it closes July 30, 2022.
Our first visit to the Port Stanley Festival Theatre certainly won't be our last!

Be forewarned regarding seasons tickets. They State five shows 162.50 plus taxes and applicable fees. Did not purchase online or use my credit card I used my debit card and in person, I was charged a 15% convenience fee. When I asked why I was charged a convenience fee when the definition of a convenience fee does not apply to the way I purchased my ticket. I was told that is was an operational fee and building maintenance fee. I demanded that my debit card be credited back the full amount of the tickets as I feel it was very deceitful to advertise it as a convenience fee state what I'm being charged for and don't hide it as a convenience. I was told I would be given a full refund for any misunderstanding that was over two and a half weeks ago and I am still waiting for the cash to be put back into my bank account.

Port Stanley's theatre is a gem. This year's season was so good we had difficulty choosing the four we attended. Because this is a ninety-minute drive for us you can be assured we wouldn't make the trip if we weren't sure we'd have a wonderful experience. From the moment we enter the theatre via its automatic doors, this building is a dream for me. I am in a wheelchair. Washroom facilities and theatre seating are most welcoming.

Every show we saw this year was outstanding. We can hardly wait until October when PSFT will announce its 2023 season.

Revisited Port Stanley in JANUARY, because of our positive experience at this theatre in the summer last season. It is operated by community volunteers who are friendly and extremely helpful. My partner and I were seated one behind the other and the ticket office came to us prior to the show and offered us 2 seats together if we preferred. Fantastic customer service!
The seats are comfortable too.
Both performances were excellent and we will be back despite the long drive home to Muskoka.

The Theatre is small, approx 250 seats. Nearby parking is ok as are a number of restaurants . The sound stage personnel (person) was inexperienced. Mikes were not on at times, lots of feedback from the speakers. The band was good but were not able to show there "stuff" due to the poor sound stage management. Will probable not go there again!

Center of downtown Port Stanley. No parking lot but plenty of street parking for free.
Originally this was the municipal building but after amalgamation a group of people got together and bought it 40 years ago for theatre on the 3rd level, rehearsal and classes on the 2nd and a non profit store on the main level.
Nice wide seating, friendly staff. Elevator thankfully to take you to the 3rd floor where the theatre is.
I was impressed by the detail of the set for "Buying the Farm" right down to the bug light and wall hangings inside the door.
Not for profit store has some interesting items on the first floor.

We saw Lunenburg at Port Stanley Festival Theatre and really enjoyed the Norm Foster play. The actors were all perfectly cast and the set was lovely.
The theatre itself is a cozy little theatre that has comfortable seats set up stadium style, so almost every seat has a decent view of the stage. The only row that is not a step up from the row in front is the second row, so I would not really recommend a seat there unless you are tall. Leg room in between the rows is not too bad, with aisle seats and the first row giving you the most space.
The theatre has restrooms on the upper and lower levels as well as a little gift shop beside the main theatre entrance. There is a licensed concession area on the top floor with an outdoor patio with views of the bridge and canal leading to Lake Erie.
There is no parking on site, but you can find parking on nearby streets or across the canal in the public parking lot beside the visitor information centre - just check the signs to see pay rates for parking.
If you arrive early or plan to stay after the performance, there are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance to do some shopping at or grab a bite to eat.

Always excellent acting and good sets.
Small size theatre with tiered seating. Not a bad seat in the house. Nice little bar area and outside roof top deck patio, over looking the river for relaxing before play and between acts.
