This tour was a fabulous way to see so much in our day on St. Lucia! The staff was helpful and took care of every need, from taking the fun pictures of us (with our own cell phones) at the mud bath, to getting new transportation when our van had difficulties, then to a beautiful hour at Sugar Beach (wish we'd skipped the waterfall, and gone straight here!), they did a great job with all of the issues that come up during the day. You will be happy you booked with Spencer Ambrose! P.S. Wear an old swimsuit for the mud baths, you could ruin a newer one, especially if it is a light color. Also wash it out as soon as you can...it will smell!

ShellyS, I am so delighted you had a great and fabulous time on our Land, Sea & Beach Adventure, during your cruise visit to St. Lucia on March 6. It means a lot for us to know you enjoyed your time at Jalousie/Sugar Beach and at the mud baths. Your encouraging compliments about my staff and how they “took care of every need” is very rewarding feedback. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We really appreciate your support during this time of global crisis. Once the COVID-19 pandemic resides and tours are able to resume, we look forward to welcoming you back on another fun and exciting day of adventure! In the meantime, stay safe! ~Spencer Ambrose

Staff was helpful, clear instructions before arriving on where to meet when visiting from a cruise. We did the speedboat transfer to Sugar beach and was so much fun. Our boat had a few signs of wear and tear on the seats, but did not damper the mood. I read a couple reviews on the beach itself - there is a side of the beach that the chairs are less than desirable, as reviewers have said, but I agree with the owner's comments that it's a public beach and you don't have to sit in this area. Plenty of sand on the beach to hangout.

Top ten day in port with Spencer Ambrose. Our time in port was altered, so I called Spencer and he was able to customize the tour to fit our time and let us experience the land and sea tour. It was an amazing day. We were picked up at the ship and transferred on a speed boat. The ride was perfect in the sunny waters. We were dropped off to a taxi and taken to the mud baths were we were able to enjoy the hot springs and healthy mud. Afterwards, we were driven to the Toraille waterfall and gardens, where we could swim. Lastly, we were taken by boat to Jalousie Sugar Bach for snorkeling and sunset. I had requested a bottle of champagne and Spencer was able to purchase one for us to enjoy as we watched the sunset. Finally a smooth ride back to the cruise ship by boat. The perfect ending to a perfect day.

We did the speedboat tour to sugar beach and loved every second of it. St Lucia is a beautiful island and it was great to see by boat. Viewing the pitons was fantastic, and sugar beach could not be any more beautiful. All the staff we encountered were great, friendly, and fun. SheShe was awesome. It was also super easy to find after getting off of our cruise ship. Would highly recommend!!

After our wonderful 12 day Caribbean Cruise, this is the one excursion I would not recommend or do again. It started out good. I loved the speed boat ride along the coast. Our guide was friendly and funny. But then it started getting confusing. The other boat (the one Spencer was on) apparently told our guide he was supposed to wait for him so we had to puddle around in a cove. Which was actually very nice. Our guide gave us a great tour (wish I could remember his name, Kyle maybe idk). But then we had to go to another beach to drop off one guy. Which was weird. Then another beach to drop off a couple that wasn’t doing the land tour. Finally we got to the dock where the land tour started. Let me tell you if you have any issue with mobility, balance, or weight, it was not easy to get on/off the boat. The dock was too high for the boat. Manageable but kind of scary. At the dock there are many men trying to give you flowers or homemade paper flowers to get money from you. Not very pleasant and puts a damper on your image of the island. Then we got into a mini van that didn’t have good airflow and we were very cramped. The streets on the island are very narrow, and our driver almost hit several pedestrians along the way. They would stop suddenly and give him such a disgusted look but he didn’t seem care at all for their safety. We went to the mud baths, which ruined our swimsuits by the smell. They should warn you. And then rushed to the waterfall where we only had time to take a quick picture and run back to the van. Then back to the dock where we struggled to find our boat. Then off to the secluded beach, where they had a private section with old, broken down lawn chairs for us. Immediately upon getting off the boat we were offered weed. The guy said it’s included in Spencer’s tour. Some may find this a benefit, but I find it distasteful. Finally, our port time was later than usual so it was dark when we went back on the speedboat. For some reason our boat and Spencer’s boat didn’t use or didn’t have any light for the boats. And we were going full speed. My husband, who is out on boats a lot said it’s highly illegal to not have a light and that we were going way too fast for safety. Talking with others on the cruise after our excursion, I am glad we chose to not do the land tour only, because others have said that was awful (2 hours on a bus to get to mud baths). I personally didn’t like the land tour at all. We saw the NCL labeled vans at the mud baths, and at least they looked new, spacious, and probably good air conditioning. Not like the old cramped van we were in. I enjoyed the boat ride there, but after that it quickly went downhill.

Hello Chelle5759. It is very regrettable that you did not enjoy your day. Honestly, I find your review upsetting and unfair. Your issues with the Soufriere dock being too high, local people trying to sell you flowers and drugs, the condition of the Resort owned chairs at the beach and your dissatisfaction with the sites and attractions in Soufriere are not a reflection of my services or guides. Jalousie/Sugar Beach is a public beach and the complimentary chairs offered on the snorkeling side of the beach are the property of the Sugar Beach Resort. We do not own these chairs, and cannot be held responsible for their condition. Since this is a public beach, we do not own a private section reserved just for Spencer Ambrose Tours. We also cannot control who visits the beach. As a former police officer, I do not promote drugs. Your confrontation with a local fellow who offered you weed has nothing to do with my guides or the service we provide. Your perception that I would condone something like this is a very distasteful, serious and hurtful accusation. Your comments about the speedboat transportation is puzzling. You mentioned you loved the speedboat ride and were glad you did not travel by land, but then say you did not like the return ride because it was too fast. With the late arrival of your ship, it was dark by the time we returned to the cruise terminal. Travelling in the dark does make it feel like the boat is moving faster, but I was setting the pace and none of my Captains were driving unsafely or faster than they should. Also your comment that we had no lights on the boat is untrue. The starboard light was flashing on and off, but the port and stern light were working and there was no risk at all. In regards to our vans, your mention of the air-flow not being good is something I was unaware of. I will check the vans to assure the air conditioning is working properly. All my guides are required to have a clean vehicle and for the comfort of my guests, the vans are never filled to full seating capacity. I apologize if you felt cramped in the van, as this was not our intent. Our tours share speedboat transportation, and this information is all explained in our tour descriptions. Therefore dropping guests off who booked other tours enroute to Soufriere should have been expected. Your positive comments about the hospitality of my guides and the great tour which they provided does represent our services and this is what sets us apart from other tour operators--yet this appears to play little to no weight to your ranking. Instead blaming us for a smell on your bathing suits after partaking in the Sulphur Springs mud baths, holding your encounter and discomfort with locals against us, your dissatisfaction with the height of a public dock and your dislike of the popular sites and attractions in Soufriere are not affiliated to my guides and the service we provide. Receiving a poor ranking based on these factors is very unfair, hurtful and damaging. There is a lot of information on my website which is there to help guests gain a better understanding of their tour and what to expect. I am sorry St. Lucia did not meet your expectations. ~Spencer Ambrose
