Beautiful beaches

The bay is lined with beautiful, clean and soft sand beaches. The ocean is clean and warm (we visited in March), but be careful of the strong current and rips.

think long beaches, good surf, cliffs with extra long views and the famous Cathedral Cove to enjoy. A bit windy but Captain Cook loved it.

We have been to Mercury Bay before, but by land. Now son-in-law has got a boat. A great day or two cruising around this beautiful bay, with lovely beaches for swimming and barbecues. Scenic. And good fishing.

Mercury bay boasts a collection of the finest beaches, Cook Beach, Lonely Bay and Shakespeare's cliffs. From Whitianga you also can easily reach Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove. Perfect location.

This has to be one of the most beautiful parts of nz. Gorgeous beaches and expanse of blue ocean. Heaps of water sports to do. Fishing is huge here. Great cafes and restaurants and plenty of accom options. Very warm and friendly locals.

Splash out a bit of coin on a boat cruise around the coast. You won't be disappointed. So much to see your camera will run hot.

Coromandel is a delight - a part of this beautiful country that we return to time and again. Spend a lazy day or a week - spoil yourselves, stay a month! There is so much to see and do. The natives are extremely friendly and welcoming. If you are fond of swimming, lovely neaches, the water and good food -... More

What I thought New Zealand would be like. Massive closed bay with islands dotted in the distance, reminded me of krabbi in Thailand only different

This bay stretches for several kilometers and is great for walking or swimming. The water is clear and safe for children.

Ideal place to stay to visit the various parts of Mercury Bay in the Coromandel Peninsula. The bay encompasses holiday spots like Hahei, Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach. Good spot to take a spot of fishing or visit the marine reserve.
